CentrePort Canada Scholarship for Environmental Engineering Technology

On November 29, 2018, Carlo Monti Aquino was presented with the CentrePort Canada Scholarship for Environmental Engineering Technology from Red River College.

CentrePort is proud to partner with Red River College (RRC) and Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology (MITT) to support the development of a skilled workforce in Manitoba by awarding annual scholarships and bursaries.

CentrePort Staff Updates

CentrePort would like to congratulate Russ Hanson, Executive Director, Business Development and Sales on celebrating five years with CentrePort.

Also, please join us in welcoming back Jill Chapman, Senior Manager, Media & Community Relations from her maternity leave.

A CELEBRATION OF TRADES AND TECHONOLOGIES ON DISPLAY AT CENTREPORT With a little help from its Robot-in-Residence – Baxter – Red River College (RRC) and the Province of Manitoba officially opened the Skilled Trades and Technology Centre (STTC) at the College’s Notre Dame Campus in November.

The new Skilled Trades and Technology Centre, spanning 104,000 square-feet, will boost RRC’s training capacity by 30 per cent. The Centre will also provide training and education for up to 1,000 students a year in many high-demand trades like electrical, carpentry, mechanical engineering technology, and Manufacturing Computer Aided Drafting (CAD).

“For 80 years, we’ve created programs and innovative learning spaces that equip our grads with the right skills and experience to meet the needs of our province’s economy and its workforce. The STTC is part of the ongoing growth we’ve been experiencing at Red River College – and today, we’re not just celebrating the trades, we’re putting them at the forefront of what we do,” said Paul Vogt, President and CEO of RRC.

Located at the Notre Dame campus at CentrePort, Vogt says that the STTC’s location will benefit RRC in many ways.

“CentrePort is a driver of growth and a job creator in the Manitoba economy,” he said. “And Red River is going to continue to provide the highly-skilled, job-ready grads that industry needs.”

For CentrePort companies looking to align with the new STTC, spaces are available currently for naming opportunities through donor recognition. Donations support the college’s ability to maintin leading edge programs and equipment, in turn providing students with the opportunities to graduate ahead of the curve and lead in their chosen fields. To get involved, visit www.rrc.ca/fundraising or call the campaign office at 204.632.3999.
