The concert will be held on the school oval. Upon arrival please find a place to set up your family’s space in front of the stage. Last year many people brought rugs and outdoor chairs and had a picnic. Whilst it has been dry today there is still some moisture on the ground so a rug would be a great idea. The school PFA will be running a BBQ and selling raffle tickets. There are some wonderful prizes on offer. Students are very excited and are looking forward to seeing you there. Please bring along your enthusiasm and be ready to be wowed! The 2019 school captains will be presented to the school community at our final assembly on Thursday at 2:30pm. They are ready to take up the challenge of the role, and have appreciated the encouragement the 2018 captains have given them. I would like to personally thank this year’s captains, Tara, Luke, Sam and Lara, for the effort they have put into the role. Good luck to our 2019 school captains Jack, Cody, Tess and Kelsey for next year. Finally, thank you to everyone who has supported the school community to make this year a successful one. Student achievement has been tremendous and school programs continue to go from strength to strength. I hope that everyone has a relaxing school holiday and manages to get some time to enjoy each other company as a family. 55 Burke Street (PO BOX 959) WARRAGUL VIC 3820 PH

Today we are holding our 2018 school concert. The concert

will be held on the school oval. Upon arrival please find a

place to set up your family’s space in front of the stage. Last

year many people brought rugs and outdoor chairs and had

a picnic. Whilst it has been dry today there is still some

moisture on the ground so a rug would be a great idea. The

school PFA will be running a BBQ and selling raffle tickets.

There are some wonderful prizes on offer. Students are very

excited and are looking forward to seeing you there. Please

bring along your enthusiasm and be ready to be wowed!

The 2019 school captains will be presented to the school

community at our final assembly on Thursday at 2:30pm. They

are ready to take up the challenge of the role, and have

appreciated the encouragement the 2018 captains have

given them. I would like to personally thank this year’s

captains, Tara, Luke, Sam and Lara, for the effort they have

put into the role. Good luck to our 2019 school captains

Jack, Cody, Tess and Kelsey for next year.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has supported the school

community to make this year a successful one. Student

achievement has been tremendous and school programs

continue to go from strength to strength. I hope that

everyone has a relaxing school holiday and manages to

get some time to enjoy each other company

James has been with us since prep. He was known as

Jamesy when he was little and now is known as Pottsy!

He is a serious student who loves books and gardening.

James also has a wicked sense of humour and loves to

be in on a joke. He has thoroughly enjoyed our Baw

Baw skills program. James is also very creative and

loves being outside, so he will be going to man cave

and art cave full time next year. The staff there will love

having James and he is looking forward to tinkering

with all their equipment.

Have a great time James—we can’t wait to hear

about your adventures!

Kate has only been with us 1 year but has

impressed us with her empathetic and

compassionate personality. Kate has applied to a

community service course at fed training and she

has been working with Work solutions to look for a

job. Kate has also started the Ladder program in

Morwell which is affiliated with the AFL.

We wish you all the best, Kate!

Lara came to our school when she was 5 and has

been here mostly all the way through (she spent some

time in Dubai). Lara has grown into a beautiful young

lady who always gives her best to whatever she does.

She has thoroughly enjoyed being vice school

captain. Lara will be attending Mawarra full time and

is looking forward to having lots of friends there (she

knows everyone!)

We will miss Lara’s infectious smile!

Hey Kim - we thought camps were

The 2018 Graduates had a WONDERFUL time at their camp

at Garfield North Outdoor Education Camp last week!

Visiting Fountain Gate Shopping Centre and Gumbuya

World, not only was it lots of fun but they also showed off

their independent living skills by catering for camp (cooking

ALL meals, cleaning up and looking after Kim and Tina!),

money management, self-care and navigating out in very

busy public spaces (have you been to Fountain Gate at

Christmas time!). We are extremely proud of these

wonderful young adults!

Carol did some Team Building in Boys

Health Group and the students enjoyed

it so much they wanted to share it with

you all!

All of the students worked so well and

learnt a lot about each others strengths!

Carol was very impressed with how Pat

bonded with his team-mate Michael -

giving him a high five and a hug, a huge

step for Pat!

Our Open Garden Report by Sam

Yesterday we had our open garden in our school garden. It was hot! We set

it up by putting up signs, we cut the labels up ready, we got chairs and

tables from the classroom to use outside and we set up 4 shelters to give us some shade.

The day started at 11:30. Our visitors came to the side gate, signed in, got a map and

then they walked to the garden.

In our garden they saw flowers, fruit and vegetables, berries and the greenhouse.

We had some activities as well they were face painting, BBQ and a plant stall where you

could buy seedlings and seeds.

We had some visitors. They all enjoyed their time in our garden.

At 2 p.m. we packed up and it was really hot but I got to go inside and do my session

with Kim R so I was cool!

Overall I think our Open Garden was awesome and fun.
