Preparation – Before All that excitement

Andy feels like he have five thumbs –guests and students making many different shapes – mostly the crane with colorful paper.

Some Kodak Moments!!

Left -- Pretty in pink and red. And some in blues

Matsuda sensee and Fukakusa senseebecame expert in dressing kimono.

Three different types of kimono: Chinami san in Homongi – very formal wear with exquisite pattern and delicate color; Ishii sensee – Komon, small pattern throughout kimono; Fukakusasensee – Muji, solid color kimono. Matsuda sensee also wears Komon but this one has bigger patterns. The sash – Obi (tied as Otaiko) are also very colorful, not to miss out. Boys wore kimono, too. Obi is tied differently – just a bit below the waistline.

And the Program

Difficult to see – but Steve Christian making speech that won him the first prize at CSULA Japanese speech contest. with translation.

Right: Yuki san performed Nankin Tama Sudare –Japanese street corner entertainment using bamboo sticks.

Takashi Tsuda kun charmed us with his samisen performance – TsugaruJongarabushi.

You can see the art work of Christine Wong – paper doll puppet show behind Takashi-kun.

More entertainment - Japanese speech & Chinese songs and Door prizes

Lots of door prizes: Izumi and Higuchi sensee in Oshima Kasuri(very exclusive silk made on an island off Tokyo) announcing door prize winners – flower arrangement calendar – one of prizes.
