Create and use Standard Development Configurationin CM Services 7.3

PurposeThis document provides steps to create and use standalone development configuration using CM Services of NWDI for portal development.

Assumptions DI Usage Type should exist and CM Services setup should be done as per wiki : http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/JDI/Setup+CM+Services+in+NWDI7.3

User with NWDI.Administrator Role,super admin and NWA Super admin role required.

In this scenario, DI, EP, ECC (CTS System) resides in same system.

Create Standard Development Configuration in CM Services.Open NWDI URL as shown below similar to http://<host>:<port>/devinf/main and choose the link CM Services as shown below.

Open NWA using URL http:/ /<host>:<port>/nwa and navigate to Configuration -> Infrastructure -> and choose Development Infrastructure.

It open and display the list of development configurations created.

If it is not created, it is possible to create New Stand-alone Development Configuration using Create New button.

Give details of Unique Name and Caption.From System Landscape Directory tab , verify SLD details and CM Services Url.

choose Local Settings tab .Give Development Configuration Path which appear during Import from NWDS Later. Select Check box RepositoryLocation and Build Tool Location to identify DTR and CBS Url’s respectively.

Give Outbox Path and Inbox path which are useful to export the SDA/SCA file from outbox path using Export Service UI and possible to importSDA/SCA file from inbox path using Import Service UI. Define Runtime system using Deploy Controller for 7.3 Portal deployment. The sameruntime system used by Import Service UI.



Choose Software Component Definition tab to add the SC to be developed for the Development Configuration. Choose Add SC as shown belowand select the SC available in SLD and choose ADD. Save the Development Configuration after that.

Now This Development Configuration is use for development from NWDS.

Export Service UI :Choose Related Links -> Export Service to open the Export UI.



After development / build of DC's in NWDS, it can be exported by using Export UI as shown below.

Select the Development Configuration and Choose Next.



Here , It is possible to select multiple Software Components to export.

Choose Next until you get Summary screen where Export button appears to Export SCA.

After Choosing Export , It will save SCA File in the outbox path which should be moved to Inbox path of other Q/P system developmentconfiguration to use Import Service to import SCA.It generate logfile as well during export to check whether it is successful or not.

Import Service UI :Choose Related Links -> Import Service to open the Import UI.

Choose Development Configuration and click Next .Select the SCA file visible from Inbox directory and choose Next.



Choose the Import button which deploy the SCA file to runtime system defined in the Development Configuration.It is possible to observe theImport log in the same screen.

History Service UI :Choose DI History Service as shown below or from Related Links from NWA.

It is possible to observe Exported/Imported SCA's as shown below.
