Higher Level Trigger Activities

Implement regional unpacking in all subsystems•Example: substantial reduction in regional ECAL unpacking for + e/•Code is available for siStrip, other systems pending

Optimization•Code improvement, accept time-outs (600 ms)

Algorithms•Complementary triggers

•Control samples

Trigger Menus•Initial trigger menus •Thresholds, prescales

Trigger DQM

Next Milestone:•Physics-Trigger Week,October 22 - 26

Simulated L1 rates at 1028

•No thresholds other than noise suppression needed at L = 1028-1029 for all triggers: muons, e/, jets, missing ET, HT

Plot made using 10 million minbias events - no pileup

Physics Priorities for Phase A

• Calibrate the detector• Begin to re-establish the Standard

Model– Minbias PT and Rapidity Distributions

– Study Jet Angular Distribution, DiJets– Establish MET– Gamma + Jet Calibration– Standard Candles: J/Ψ, Υ, W, Z

TSG Needs You!

• Trigger Menu Development– Study rates and prescale factors– Measure efficiencies

• HLT Algorithm Development– Implement and maintain HLT paths

• Trigger Menu Implementation– Study misalignment/miscalibration effects

• Trigger Performance– Trigger Validation– Write DQM monitoring software– Evaluate CPU/memory usage

Volunteers needed from POGs/PAGs/DPG’s

Priorities for JetMET

• Need a volunteer to prepare release validation plots – L1 and HLT rates and efficiencies for our base triggers– Eventually migrate these into the DQM infrastructure

• Begin studying misalignment/miscalibration effects– Alignment and calibration scenarios based upon 10 pb-

1 and 100 pb-1 of data in place for most sub-systems.

• Implement regional unpacking/reco for jets
