Dear Members,
Another year has begun. Our AGM was held November 23. We said thank you to some retiring board members for their ideas and generous gift of time and welcomed new board members. Our new smaller board will continue to guide the centre with their collective thoughts and leadership as we look forward to another year of serving our community.
Sadly, this past year we said farewell to a number of our members who passed away.
Our Learning in Retirement Committee: Faye Kay, Judi Goldsand, Suzan Lieberman and Sue Winestock put together a suburb lineup of topics and instructors. Whether you were interested in the artists' expression of their life transitions, local politics, great Jazz music, history of social policy our diverse courses had something to interest everyone.
We are delighted to report that the new concrete pad in front of the building has been poured. The original pad was cracked and became a tripping hazard. Our ceiling tiles throughout the building also were replaced.
The Program Committee was also hard at work coordinating a Flu Clinic, the Membership Lunch, the Fall Tea & Fashion Show, the Korean Lunch and Cultural Show, touring the Winspear Centre, and welcoming guests from another senior centre. We were all entertained and delighted by the very diverse and interesting assortment of programming available.
Don’t miss our upcoming Hanukkah Latke Celebration. Please make sure you reserve your seat early. We always look forward to having you join us at the Centre! Hal Simons, President
