Roundup Ready Technology
• Over 1,200,000 cotton acres planted in LA in last two years.
• 99 % Transgenic cotton in 2006
• Mostly Roundup Ready varieties for weed control
Roundup Ready Technology
• Eliminate applications and tillage operations
• Easy application trigger
• Broad spectrum of control
• Tank-mix partners
• Flex introduction(variety and herbicide)
Justification
• -Synergies or negative interactions between this new herbicide and other agrochemicals, growth regulators and insecticide, and on integrated pest and crop management strategies
Objectives
• -Investigate effects of insecticides and plant growth regulators when co-applied with MON 3539 (Roundup Herbicide) on Roundup Ready Flex cotton.
• -Determine if possible effects are influenced by cotton growth stage at time of application.
Materials and Methods• Northeast Research Station, St.
Joseph LA in 2005 and 2006
• ST4554B2RF
• RCB; factorial treatment arrangement; 4 replications
• Plots 6.67’ x 12’
• Tractor mounted compressed air sprayer; 110 02; 32 PSI; 15 GPA.
