N O T I F I C A T I O N

The National lnstitute o f Open Schooling (NIOS), Govt o f India, in consultation wi th

School Education Department, Govt o f West Bengal, is announcing the introduction of a

Special Project fo r up gradation of Academic Qualification of Teachers o f Primary Scliools of

West Bengal on the following terms and conditions.

1. Eligibility: The Teachers o f Primary Schools who have no t passed Senior Secondary

Examinations or secured less than 50% marks on aggregate fo r general category & 45

% f o r SC & ST category and other reserve category under RTE Act 2009.

2. Medium of Studies: The course materials would be available in Hindi, English, Urdu

and Bengali medium.

3. Scheme of Studies: There are six language subjects out of which admission in

minimum One and maximum t w o is required. The candidates are free t o select rest

fourlthree subjects f rom the non-language group of subjects. A total of five subjects

are required fo r certification purpose. The details of scheme o f studies and subject

available (medium-wise) are given at appendix-C .

4. Study Centres: The candidate must indicate three choices of study centres approved

by the NlOS in order of hislher preference fo r attending Personal Contact

Programme (PCP). However the study centres are likely t o be changed subject t o

availability i f minimum number o f students in each centre. The medium wise details

of study centre are given at appendix-E.

5. Transfer of Credit: The Transfer of Credit (T0C)facility would be provided to a maximum of

four subjects passed with 334 marks from the selected Boards during the last 15 years

(passed during 1999 onwards) provided these subjects are also available in NIOS scheme of

studies. The list of recognised boards for TOC purpose is given at appendix- B.

6. Admission fee: The admission fee fo r this project is Rs. 3ooo / fo r five subjects

including subjects under Transfer o f Credit. The fee fo r additional subjects is Rs 5001-

per subject. The payment should be made only through Demand Drafts drawn in

favour of Secretary, NlOS payable at Kolkata. The fee fo r public examination or On

Demand Examination will be charged separately f rom t ime t o t ime as per exam fee

collection schedule.

7. How to Apply: The eligible candidates shall apply t o the National Institute o f Open

Schooling (NIOS) in the prescribed format (enclosed w i th this Notification) fo r

getting themselves registered in the Senior Secondary course. The applications

complete is all respect should be sent t o NlOS Regional Centre, lo/l/H, Diamond

Harbour Road, Kolkata 700027 only in offline mode through speed post on or before

30 September 2013

of examination.

(iii) TOC in the subjects having practicals at Senior Secondary level will be allowed only when you are pass in

theory and practical separately.

(iv) You will have to give full details of the TOC subjects and marks obtained on the Admission Form.

(v) You will have to attach the original mark sheet issued by the respective Board. Laminated marksheet will

not be accepted.

The admission fee for the Sr Secondary course under this project is Rs. 3000/- (Rupees
