Council on the World Surf City Network (WSCN) and promoting the Gold Coast surf industry business and international operations.

John has been instrumental in driving the external funding of this group including

securing a T-Qual’ grant to fund the 2013 WSCN Annual Conference on the Gold Coast and an Australia-China Council grant to support engagement between the Gold Coast surf industry and the emerging Chinese surfing industry. As Chairman, John has presented stimulating, informative and engaging presentations at numerous global events in cities as diverse as San Sebastian (Spain), Durban (South Africa) and Sao Paulo (Brazil). John is a very passionate business leader committed to community interests with the ability to work with diverse stakeholder interests. Of particular interest, John has outstanding pitch and presentation skills that have been developed over a career involved in media engagement in a range of industry sectors and extremely capable when pitching to Mayors, Federal and State politicians, company directors and executives in corporate Australia.
