The Auckland Jazz Orchestra draws from a collective of Auckland’s best musicians exploring the potential of a Big Band. Founded early 2009 the band is currently conducted by Tim Atkinson. The band is lucky that their 'book' is filled by a wide range of NZ compositions and arrangements. Jazz vocalist and flutist Trudy Lile will be joined by some of New Zealand's most professional and exquisite musicians, performing fresh, sophisticated arrangements of a range of jazz material. She has appeared throughout New Zealand with Mojave, The Jazz Divas, and has recorded with a variety of artists, including The Auckland Jazz Orchestra, The Rodger Fox Big Band, Whirimako Black, Ishtar, Oquestra Amadeus, Teremoana Urale, Dave Gibson,and Many Hands. Trudy graduated with a Master of Music, Jazz performance at New Zealand School of Music Albany Campus, where she’s also an artist teacher. She has performed at packed houses at jazz festivals throughout New Zealand and Trudy has been invited back to perform in 2012 to perform with her own band at The Magnetic Jazz festival in Australia, after exiting performances in 2011 with The Jazz Divas. Grant P Chilcott, also known as Wentworth Brewster, has been keeping the torch of crooner-style singing aflame in New Zealand for twenty five years. He’s recorded with The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra Strings, performed with the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra, and sung in exotic countries around the world.

Grant’s programme will include selections from his new album which celebrates the works lyricist Mitchell Parish.

The Society Jazzmen were formed in 1969 and have been entertaining people of all ages ever since. They have made many TV appearances, radio broadcasts, and have travelled New Zealand and the Pacific playing their own style of music which can probably best be described as "British/American Dixieland".

The main attribute of the band is that after 30 years, they are still full of enthusiasm for their music, and it is obvious when watching them that they also thoroughly enjoy themselves.
