Career &  Technical  Educa on  offers  Criminal  Jus ce  classes 

that offers an opportunity  for students  to  learn  skills  and ex‐

plore  careers  in  the field of Criminal  Jus ce.  Criminal  Jus ce 

classes  provide  students  with  the  background  knowledge 

needed to be successful as they prepare beyond high school to 

pursue a Criminal Jus ce degree.  The in‐depth content of the 

criminal jus ce system provided in these classes will help facil‐

itate the needs for employment  in one of the fastest growing 

areas today.  Occupa ons in this field include police and detec‐

ves,  correc onal  officers, EMTs  (emergency medical  techni‐

cian), FBI agents, firefighters, private  inves gators, proba on 

officers,  security  officers,  and  surveillance  officers.   Criminal 

Jus ce provides  jobs  in all  levels  of  government:  local, state, 

and federal.  

Principles of Law, Public Safety, Correc ons & Security (grades 11‐12) 

Are you interested in pursuing a profession in law enforcement, security, correc ons, or fire and emergency management services?  Sign up for this course and begin exploring the many opportuni es in theses fields.  Students will examine: 

Police responsibili es and roles  The jus ce system  Private Security  Fire and Emergency Services 

Law Enforcement I & II (grades 11‐12)  If you are fascinated with law and the role of law enforcement , you will find this the perfect course to give you an overview of the func ons of the many exci ng professions in this area.  Students will par cipate in the role play of the following du es: 

Field Sobriety Tests  Handcuffing & Arrests  Mock Trials  Basic Crime Scene Inves ga on  Fingerprin ng 

Forensic Science (grades 11‐12) Successful comple on of both semesters of this course will sa sfy a science credit. 

Do you like CSI?  Forensic Science will provide opportuni es to learn the scien fic approach to the inves ga on of crimes and the psychology of criminal behavior.  This course will give students laboratory experience that includes the following: 

Fingerprint analysis  Ballis cs  Blood spa er analysis  Collec ng and analyzing crime scene evidence  Chromatography  Forensic Photography
