Tre Norwood scores a touchdown during the 2020 Cotton Bowl. Norwood won the defensive MVP award and helped lead the OU Sooners to a 55-20 victory over the Florida Gators. Tre is now preparing for the NFL combine and draft.

Isaiah Joe signs autographs for Boys & Girls Club members at the Stephens unit on Nov. 25, 2020. Mayor George McGill hosted a special Isaiah Joe Day in Fort Smith to help celebrate his signing with the NBA Philadelphia 76ers.

Isaiah Joe CelebratesRecent NBA Selection At

Stephens Boys & Girls Club As a new member of the Philadelphia 76ers, Arkansas Razorback basketball star Isaiah Joe is fulfilling a dream come true. The former Boys & Girls Club member was in attendance at the Stephens unit on November 25 to share the excitement. Isaiah was selected in the second round and was the 49th overall pick of the 76ers. Joe is the first Razorback to be drafted by the 76ers since Fred Grim in 1956 when the franchise was the Syracuse Nationals. Isaiah averaged 15.2 points per game – including 16.9 to rank seventh in the SEC in 2019-20 and 13.9 to rank 15th in the SEC in 2018-19). He dished out 103 career assists, had 87 career steals and led the team in taking charges both seasons (18 in 2019-20 and 27 in 2018-19). Joe had two impressive seasons at Arkansas. He set a school record for the most 3 pointers made during a season, with 113 as a freshman and 94 as a sophomore. He missed 5 games his sophomore year because of a knee injury.

TRE NORWOOD NAMED MVPIN OU COTTON BOWL WIN

Former Boys & Girls Club staff member Tre Norwood was named defensive MVP in the Dec. 30, 2020 Cotton Bowl Classic. The OU Sooner defensive back returned an interception 45 yards in the first quarter for a TD and a 14-0 lead over the Florida Gators of the SEC. Norwood (6-foot, 194 pounds), who missed the entire 2019 season with a knee injury, returned to the Sooners this past season and made an impact, especially down the stretch. He wound up with five interceptions, tied for third in the country and also led both the Sooners and the Big 12 Conference in that category. Norwood was also the 28th player in program history to end a season with at least five interceptions. He had two interceptions in OU’s win over Texas Tech. A 2017 graduate of Northside, Norwood played QB and defensive back for the Grizzlies, and was a member of the Grizzly basketball 7A state title squad. During his career at OU, he started as a true freshman in the 2017 season, including the Rose Bowl loss to Georgia in the semifinals of the College Football Playoff, and also was a starter as a sophomore in 2018 before his knee injury the following year, which forced him to redshirt that entire season. Tre is a former Stephens Boys & Girls Club member. He played various sports at the Boys & Girls Club while growing up. His father Michael Norwood was the 2016 Volunteer of the Year at the Stephens unit. Tre’s grand- father Garland “Hop” Bray was inducted into the FSBGC Hall of Fame in 2014. Tre’s late grandfather, Mike Norwood (who passed away in 2015), was an assistant principal at Kimmons Jr. High and once served as the Van Buren Boys & Girls Club director.
