    Day 3 ‐ Friday, June 28Travel to Caesarea‐by‐the‐Sea, built as theimperial center for the Roman government. Itsharbor, theater, and marbled streets signal thearrival of foreign occupation in the Heartland,and, not surprisingly, the beginning point forChristianity in the Gentile world. Visit Mt.Carmel where Elijah defeated the prophets ofBaal. Visit Tel Megiddo, an ancient city andcommand post.     Day 5 ‐ Sunday, June 30Dawn comes early at Magdala, an industrialsite on the edge of the Sea of Galilee. Viewimpressive remains that illustrate the fishingindustry from the time of Christ. Sail across thewaters of the Sea of Galilee. Walk the groundsof Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry.Visit the synagogue that stands on the sitewhere Jesus taught. Visit the Church of thePrimacy of Peter on the shores of the Sea ofGalilee (John 21) and Tabgha’s Church of theLoaves and Fishes. For many, the highlight ofthe day will be a stop at the peaceful Mount ofBeatitudes overlooking the Sea of Galilee.Recall Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount and histeaching regarding the kingdom of God (Matt5‐7).     Day 8 ‐ Wednesday, July 3This day begins on foot in the Old City. EnterSt. Stephen's Gate and walk the path of the ViaDolorosa. Along the way, tour the Pool ofBethesda and the Church of St Anne. Visit asite dubbed the most sacred in all Christianity:the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Here, thedeath, burial, and resurrection of Jesus arecelebrated to this day.
