Howdy from Bebop,
The Jolly Joey’s have started 2016 with wonderful strides in the
right direction! We’re Growing!!! It’s only January and already
we’ve had three of our past members find their way back to our
Alley. Those members are; Louis “Papa Louie” Gonzales, Kathi
“Tickles” Fischer and JR William “Sweet Pea” Mabry. We welcome
them back to their clown family. We have hopes that more of our
past members will find their way back to clowning and back to our
Alley. I’m also aware that this month we’ve also added new
members as well. Yea! Bump-A-Nose and Welcome! As our Alley
grows we’ll have more fun to share and more individuals to learn
from because everyone has something to offer. Remember the old
saying…‘the more the merrier’ that would certainly apply to us
clowns!
This year we’ll have some great educational opportunities coming
our way….Our first weekend workshop is with Lee “Lew-E”
Andrews but it won’t be our last. We have plans of bringing in
other instructors for additional Half-Day and All-Day workshops,
maybe for the Summer and Fall. We’ll also have some fun
educational opportunities at every general membership meeting
and at our ‘Skills Night’. This past Thursday Pandorfus, our
Education Director, organized a very successful Balloon Jam. We
had fifteen members enjoying a fun evening with good friends
sharing a common interest and picking up some great balloon
skills and balloon tips.
Our JJCA Board continues to work on our “Fun and Functional
By-laws”.
I’m excited that as an Alley we’re putting together this very
important document. These By-laws will provide us with the
added structure and stability that will benefit our growth and
potential as a professional organization.
Don’t forget that the Board meets at 6pm just before the General
Membership meeting in the same room on the second Thursday of
the month. Every JJCA member is always invited to our JJCA
Board Meetings. Thank-You for your membership and your
support…..bebop

As I stumble through this life, help me to create more laughter than tears, dispense more
happiness than gloom, spread more cheer than despair. Never let me become so indifferent
that I will fail to see the wonder in the eyes of a child or the twinkle in the eyes of the aged.
Never let me forget that my total effort is to cheer people, make them happy and forget - at
least momentarily - all the unpleasantness in their lives. And, in my final moment, may I
hear You whisper: 'When you made My people smile, you made Me smile.'

Perhaps our Jolly Joey Mates would be pleased to see the attached photo of our first two
Papua New Guinean Caring Clowns
In the photo are: Skita, Twinkle and
Sassy!
The Alley is called: Jolly Wantoks, Caring
Clown Alley of Papua New Guinea.
“Wantoks” means friends, and/or relatives
and/or people who come from the same
part of the world!
We did our first gig together for the
Diocesan Employee Christmas Party the
two of them were a great hit. They are so
funny. They’re natural clowns!
In the #2 photo Skita and Sassy were do-
ing the Missing Bench Skit
In the #3 photo the three of us had a special Christmas
gift for the Business Manager!!
Everything we all gave me and which I brought I use
and share with Skita and Sassy.
Thanks so very much for ALL the prop you gave me.
Am hoping to be funded by a Children’s Organization
in Austria to have a Training Workshop for some 20+
Caring Clowns from across PNG.
Take care. May God continue to bless you. Stay well
and safe.
Lots of love and big hugs.

In honor of Morgan, Ladybug has asked that members bring a magic trick to share
each month. At this meeting Ladybug demonstrated a simply, comedy trick in
Morgan's honor.
Vision for Jolly Joeys was shared: Bebop shared her 2016 vision for the JJCA. She
proposed a revised Mission statement which generated some good discussion.
She will work on a new revision adding some of the suggestions made. She also
brought up the need for Alley By-laws. The Board is working on reviewing the
first draft which will be shared with the members in Feb. for their review.
There was discussion on both the Mission statement and the By-laws from the
floor: Items brought up were: a desire to review the document/concerns that
Alley might become too rigid/need for By-laws in order to protect the Alley/
needed in an effort to give us a professional foundation to work from regarding
Board responsibilities, members eligibility, etc...Bebop stated that By-laws are
important as we attempt to increase our numbers and grow our Alley......(We'll
work on the By-laws as an Alley during the 1st quarter of this year)
Discussed getting updated JJCA business cards to hand out at gigs.
