INTRODUCTION

Have you ever wondered when you are in the water what creatures are lurking at the bottom? Well, there are a number of species including crustaceans, echinoderm but the most feared is the stone fish with 13 spines that inject deadly venom.

By the end of this report you will know how heavy it is, the pain it can inject and lots of interesting facts throughout this amazing report.

HABITAT

The reef stone fish is found in coral reefs, rocky coastal shelves and it is also found in sallow waters. It is an easy mistake to enter the reef stone fish’s home and stand on it. The country it has been most found in is the Indonesia waters and Australia.

PAINThe reef stone fish can cause a lot of pain. It’s sting is so painful that victims have been known to beg to have their foot chopped off (ouch!). The venom injected from the stone fish sting is deadly if not treated quickly.

The stone fish can kill a person within 2 hours that’s 22 in 24 hours unless he or she is treated in time with anti-venom.

The Reef stone fish is also know as

the dornorn is the most venomous

bottom dweller and fish in the

The stone fish is one of the most camouflaged fish in the world.

Is that piece of weed covered rock or a fish? Stone fish are disguised to look like a rock lying on the seabed.

This camouflaged fish hides from prey and predations such as bottom feeding sharks and rays.

DIET

WHAT IT EATS

The reef stone fish feeds on

small fish such as shrimps

and other bottom creepy

crawlies.

The reef stone fish’s eyes

make it able to see nice juicy

shrimps, lobster and

crayfish.

HOW IT EATS

The Stone Fish eats as fast

as a human can blink it’s

eye. The stone fish lies

quietly, and when prey

swims above it, spike will

come up and stab the prey

and the stone fish then eats

it.
