There are many examples of stereotypes, but I could consider that this
advertisement is a stereotype that involves grouping of individuals, which involves with
children. The description on the advertisement saying that “ Keeping communities safe, one
alert at a time.” with a picture of a group of children wearing school uniforms, it seems like
the picture of the group of children is related to the description it is because people always
think that children are in danger or harmful when they are not under any parental cares. Why
not the advertisement uses other people with other ages? Most of the children don’t have a
single knowledge about self-defences or most of the children are the apple of their parent’s
eyes. So, with this opinion, this advertisement would caught the readers attentions more
compared to other advertisements that inserted pictures of people who are older.
Besides, as I mentioned above, children are easily to get harm under zero parental
cares. So, this advertisement can make readers realise that they need to keep their children or
family safe in the way that never leave them behind or alone. This stereotype is used to
describe against the children including ignoring their ideas because they are too young,
assuming that they should behave in certain way because of their age. But it is easy to deliver
the message of keeping communities safe to the readers.
