Q.5 Case Study: f15]"Asiana Travel and Tour Company" was an idea of Anand

Shetty of Chennai who along with a team of six people came up witha new innovative concept in South India. According to Mr. Shetty, people are the most important asset of the company and they providelegendry service. He states that employees are the first customersand passengers are the second. He also believed that one has toshow their people that you value them and that you are not going tohurt them just to get some more money in the short run. Layingpeople off breeds a lack of trust, a sense of insecurity and a lack ofloyalty. Although 5% of employees are members of union, theyidentify more with the company than with the company. As a result, there have been few strikes since Asiana was formed in 1981.

Creativity, humour and service are significant aspect of theculture. There are chairs located throughout the building for

impromptu meetings and ways to find relief in high stress jobs.Employees are taught that if they want customers to have fun, theymust create a fun-loving environment.

Another characteristic of the strong culture is employeecommitment and motivation, which leads to co-operativerelationships among employee teams i.e. the majority of employeesshare the same goals and basically agree on how to pursue them.

In 2014, Anand reached the age of 70 and decided to retire. His biggest concern was that he wanted a successor who wouldrespect the existing culture and maintain as well as transmit.Questions:(1) Describe the organizational culture of Asiana.(2) Explain the concern of Anand Shetty.(3) Write in detail the different practices to maintain
