I would like to begin again by thanking all of our Volunteers who gave
their time to the Lodge by either cleaning the inside and or the outside
of the Lodge this past month. Also to those Volunteers who put on
some great meals this last month. A special Thanks to the Legion
members & their wives for the Great BBQ Chicken picnic, Raffle &
Entertainment they put on for everyone. And to Mike Mullins for his
1st Pool Tournament he has held.
We still need more men to help with the Lodge cleaning! And some
women to help with the WOTM restroom cleaning! each week.
Even if you can only help out once or twice a month that would be very
helpful.
On July 4th the WOTM will be fixing Breakfast for the Flag setters after
they set up the Flags on the Skyway and will also be serving their regu-
lar breakfast at 9:00am. The LOOM will be having a Hamburger &
Hotdog Picnic starting at 12:00 noon to 2:00pm
We are still looking for some new function ideas that would be a fun
thing to do & make some income for the Lodge. If you have any ideas
please come to our meetings, or contact any of our Lodge Officers or
myself at 873-6420.
Lastly, Thanks Chanter & Richard for the timely sent June newsletter
that we all received.
Fraternally yours,
Ron Heavilin/Governor

Administrator’s Notes
Thanks to all of our hard working volunteers. We could not exist
without each of you. Thanks also to all those who support our activi-
ties. If anyone else can help out in any area, please contact any officer.
THANK YOU to our Women of the Moose and their LOOM helpers
who put on such a wonderful Father‟s Day breakfast enjoyed by one
of our largest turnouts in a while.
The Lodge will be celebrating its 41st Anniversary on August 9. We
will be having an anniversary/birthday breakfast on Sunday August 8
and our Annual Pit BBQ on Saturday August 14, fire regulations per-
mitting. The WOTM will be having a rummage sale that weekend
also.
If you have an idea or suggestion for an activity or a new meal menu,
PLEASE let us know.
Congratulations to Phil Uhas who won the drawings for 2 free break-
fasts, Richard Ximenez would have won 1 year‟s dues if he had been
present at our Lodge meeting. These free drawings are held every
regular Lodge meeting on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00
p.m. and you must be present to win.
We will be bringing back a lot of new information from the Interna-
tional Convention next month. In addition to the new Membership
Campaign there are quite a few changes to the General Laws that will
make it easier to make our Lodges run smoothly. Check out the
Moose International website, „Members Only” section. The password
is “opry”. The web address is www.mooseintl.org

MEMBERSHIP-MEMBERSHIP-MEMBERSHIP
At the Convention in July the NEW Membership campaign will be an-
nounced (Stay tuned). The CNMA State Campaign “MONEY-
MONEY-MONEY” is highlighted on the following pages. . In the mean time the BULL MOOSE program is still in effect for our
newest sponsor‟s name to be posted in the social quarters, and he will
get one free drink from the well each day he is at the Lodge until the
next sponsor turns in an application. Also, each sponsor of a new or re-
enrolled member will receive 10 Moose Bucks good for any purchase in
our Lodge. I encourage everyone, especially the Lodge officers to read
the article on page 57 and 60 in the latest Moose Magazine, very good
stuff. We have a lot of work to do in regards to membership. We will
talk a lot more on this in the coming newsletters. Welcome to our new-
est members: Bill Dague sponsored by Charles Banchio, Calvin Driver
by Mike Shores, Larry Gress by Dale Archibald, and Jim Young by
Phil Uhas.

SICKNESS & DISTRESS
Bob Schreiber is in rehab in Twin Oaks in Chico. John Lathe is home
and would appreciate phone calls. Gordon Wallin and Don Steele are
also home recuperating as are Ellen Pegler, and James Nicholson recov-
ering from a stroke. If you know a member who is ill or family in need,
please contact the Lodge or Chapter as soon as possible. Help which
comes too late is no help at all.
NEWSLETTER UPDATE
Hello, my name is Chanter and I am helping Rich put together the
newsletter each month. If you have an article, recipe, or a story that you
would like to share with your fellow Moose Members, please submit by
Friday following our Tuesday Calendar meeting, which is the third
Tuesday of each month.
French Camp 2010: On June 1st, eight rigs descended upon French
Camp R.V. and Golf Resort near Manteca, for 5 days of fun, food and
great company. Wednesday morning began with a Fizz Breakfast,
Bloody Marys, fresh fruit and build-it-yourself omelets. Thanks to
everone who pitched in with prep and setup. Games in the club house
and the poos were popular all seek as ways to cool off in the 80 degree
temperatures. Thursday we had a Blongo tournament, won by the
team of Bruce Kleiner and Ed VanDerLinden. Friday‟s cookout and
potluck was a great success, and the evening‟s Brown Bag Auction,
led by Claire Allen and Tom Skelly, brought in $162.00. This was a
great outing; the local wineries, Bass Pro and the casino in
Jackson were real hits.
Ed VanDerLinden
We have a couple of outings under our belts, Ed gave his report on the
French Camp outing. Sounds like all had a lot of fun, games & wine.
Ed will be looking for a new place for next year, a little different time
as graduations etc. caused a conflict for some.
Dick gave updates on Brookings, He also may
be checking out a new place for us.
I will have information on Rolling Hills for the
next meeting July 23rd.

Wagon Master

July 31. Dinner will be at 6:00 PM followed by the meeting, District

are invited to attend.

August 29.
The CNMA State Convention will be in Palm Springs Sept. 8-12,

In the spirit of The Late Night Show, here are the Top 10 Reasons to Support Gimme Five: 10 It’s non-fattening! Give up just one donut, bagel or latte per week and donate the equivalent to Gimme Five. You’ll not only support a great cause but you’ll spare yourself a ton of calories this year! 9 Its environmentally friendly! We offer online contribu-tions! Save a stamp and paper by going online! http://www.moosecharities.org/. However, we are versatile - you can still do it the old fashioned way. 8 It’s easy! You don’t have to attend an all-day training seminar or even call tech support to give to Gimme Five 7 It’s a guilt-free alibi! You can actually say, “I gave at the office…” and mean it! 6 It’s YOUR Moose campaign! You have already chosen to support our kids and senior. You choose how to give (cash, check, credit card or payroll deduction). 5 It’s safe! As far as we know, no one has ever been in-jured while filling out a Gimme Five form… 4 It’s good Karma! (Heaven knows some of you need it to counteract the other kind of Karma you are generating around town.) 3 It’s cost-effective! A modest contribution won’t be missed, but it will add up to a meaningful annual contribu-tion. 2 It is tax deductible! Wow, don’t we ALL need a tax break these days? 1 You can make a difference! We’re not Warren Buffet, but when we pool our collective resources the contributions add up to make a really significant difference to Mooseheart and Moosehaven. Sr. Regent‟s Message
Well, here I am again. The officers would like to see more of our Co-
Workers at our meetings. If you have not been to a meeting since the
changes were put in place last year, you will be surprised to know that
they are a lot shorter.
On August 20, we will be putting on our Annual Luau. The tickets are
Pre-Sale and will be on sale July 20 through August 17. See the flyer in
this newsletter.
Ona Reardon will be holding a rummage sale Friday August 13 through
Sunday August 15, the same weekend as our Annual Pit BBQ on Satur-
day the 14th.
We are still looking for anyone who would like to put on a Thursday
Burger Grill, Friday dinner or a Sunday breakfast for the WOTM. The
cooks who have been doing all the cooking are getting burned out and
need a break. If you would like to do any of these events, please call
any of the officers.
The Co-Workers who said they would take a chairmanship and did not
make the installation in April, please come to our Activity Meeting or
the Business Meeting in July. We really need to install you before July
31.
If you know of any Co-Worker who is ill or in the hospital, please call
me. If I am not at home, please leave a message on my machine.
Be sure to check the July Calendar for all functions. Hope to see you all
soon.
Yours in Faith, Hope and Charity
