PARISH OFFICE SUMMER HOURS

We will see you in September!
On Monday evening Fr. Jay delivered this invocation to the Dutchess County Legislature. Feel free to take a moment to read, reflect and pray... Gracious and loving God, every July we think back to the beginning of this nation when our Founding Fathers envisioned a country where people of many distinct backgrounds, beliefs and customs would put aside their differences and personal politics and form one people to ensure prosperity, equality, justice and peace for all. They achieved this goal by asking the people to choose representatives who would work together to make these dreams happen. It was their hope that these elected leaders would find what they had in common and build on that to bring about that dream of unity. Tonight we ask you Bless the efforts of this Legislature, their staff and all present in this room so that we may do our part to restore that dream in Dutchess County... Bless the people of this nation and help us to work together, as those who gave birth to this nation, hoped we would... Bless those who live in this County... those who work here and those who visit, especially at this time of year and keep them safe Bless those who will be honored this evening for their work to make our county better and those whose lives will be touched by the decisions made here tonight... Bless those who serve in our military and those first responders who work to keep us safe and in peace, but most of all, bless our world and its people with a RENEWED desire to respect one another so that we may bring healing, not division in all that we say... think... and do... now and forever. AMEN

I personally worked with Nan during my 7 years at Dover and know that she will be a fine addition to our staff. Please welcome her to our Parish family and make her feel at home. You will be hearing more from her in the coming weeks.
