High on Hope Ministries is a local non-profit organization that is helping to fight the drug epidemic in the Mid-Ohio Valley and beyond. They are having a fundraiser dinner cruise on the Valley Gem Sternwheeler on August 10th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The fundraiser is seeking to raise money to buy a van to help transport local people who are in drug rehab. The price is $100/person or $150/couple. Pastor Kurt has two tickets to this event. If you would like to go, call the Church Office.

Emmanuel Art Gallery—Take some time today to walk through the Narthex and see the drawings of Elizabeth Beary and a painting by Howard McGinnis.

This summer, Mackenzie Sims is working for AmeriCorps through their Energy Express Program. They are holding a “Basic Needs Drive” where they will accept items such as school supplies, hygiene items, clothing, and nonperishable food. These donated items will then be taken to the Children’s Home Society of WV, Hamilton Middle School, and other local organizations. Please bring your donations by July 25 to support these organizations and put them in the box in the new Narthex.

Hats and Scarves for McKinley Students - Rhonda Johnston is starting a ministry at Emmanuel to knit and crochet hats and scarves for McKinley School students, who may need not only the warmth and protection they offer, but also our prayerful love and kindness. The first meeting will be Saturday, August 4 at 11:00 a.m. (Future dates to be determined.) If you are interested, you may pick up a flyer on the Ministry Table or you can contact Rhonda at 304.482.1970 or [email protected].
