The youth and Tweens have filled over 100 “Feed the hungry” food

Stephen Leaders and Stephen Ministers

Stephen Ministry, Christian lay caring ministry for those in need, is a

vital part of our congregation’s mission. on August 13 we will commis-

sion our Stephen leaders, david Fraser and Marie Madden, and Stephen

Ministers, lynn Ashworth, Allison george, greg laird, and do lee, to

begin service in our congregation.

Join in the celebration! Come pray for and show your support for this

caring ministry and these gifted people whom god has called and

equipped for this important role in our congregation.

VBS Potluck Today

Please join us today after Worship in Fellowship hall to celebrate Vaca-

tion Bible School. We are inviting the VBS families to attend and hope

do you enjoy music? Would you like

the opportunity to play music in our

church? if so, signing up for the bell

choirs can be your opportunity to join

a group of musicians dedicated to

enhancing the worship experience.

All the bell choirs will be starting rehearsals for the 2017/2018 season

soon and are looking for adults, youth and children to join us.

* Children's chime choir: group meets most Sundays at 9:30 am for ap-

proximately 20 minutes. This group is for children in grades first through

sixth.

* youth Bells: group meets on Sundays at 8:45 am for 30 minutes. This

group is for kids in grades seventh through 12.

* Allegro Ringers: The adult bell choir meets on Tuesday evenings at 7:00

pm for an hour. This group is open to everyone 18 years of age and older.

We have two openings.

Come see me on Sundays oR call the church office for schedule of

rehearsals.

Get the Right Size

you can order your First UMC t-shirt until August 27. it will be ready

in time for the Fall Festival. The t-shirt will say “you can’t buy happiness,

but you can be a United Methodist and that’s kind of the same thing” on

the back. A line drawing of our church and the church name will be on

one sleeve. To help make sure you order the correct size, please stop by

the table on the patio on the following dates: July 30, August 13, and

August 27. Shirts are available in the following sizes for you to hold up

next to your shoulders to help determine your correct size.

Mens’: XL, XXL, XXXL

Ladies’: S, M, L, XL

Ladies’ V neck: S, M, L, XL

Shirts are available in many other sizes. Men’s shirts can be purchased

up to size 6xl. Women’s shirts are available to size 4xl. Just look at the

order form to see what sizes are available in the shirt design you prefer.

We will resume our regular

Asbury Room on August 2. We are

building an interesting inventory of

crafts for our Bazaar (nov. 4). you

are welcome to join us!

Embroiderers are still needed for

our top selling tea-towels. if you are

crafting at home, set aside a few to

donate to the Bazaar. Though the

Bazaar is november 4, we really

have only August and September to

be completing projects, as october is

abuzz with last minute preparations.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

This special meeting is called to

do the necessary planning for the

East district Annual Celebration,

which will be held at our church,

Saturday, September 23. it will be an

exciting day, and lots of planning

and help will be needed to keep the

day running smoothly.

given to the children as they begin the new school year.

The grove Care and Wellness has an opportunity to share your time or

talent with the people who live there. They look forward to activities to

enjoy their day, and would love to hear your musical ability (instrument

or voice), magic show, games, or whatever you are able to offer. it can be

a one-time event or an ongoing program.
