WELCOME

Westminster Presbyterian Church is a covenant family of believers called by God to fulfill His purposes here in Laurel, and as a staging ground for worldwide kingdom growth where we seek to live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ – to fill the earth with disciples, subdue it redemptively for God’s glory, and worship Him joyfully. We are being redeemed and equipped by the Spirit to build up one another until the Lord returns.

CORPORATE CONFESSION OF SIN

O God, You have shown us the way of life through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We confess our slowness to learn of Him, our failure to follow Him, and our reluctance to bear the cross.

Have mercy on us, Lord, and forgive us. We confess the poverty of our worship, our neglect of fellowship and of the means of grace, our hesitating witness for Christ, our evasion of responsibilities in our service, our imperfect stewardship of Your gifts.

Have mercy on us, Lord, and forgive us. We confess that we have groaned as those who have no hope, not relying on the Spirit, but on our own minuscule resources.

There will be no service this evening, but make sure to join us for a delicious meal and fellowship immediately following the service this morning.

Mother’s Morning Out: MMO will be CLOSED next week, August 9th and 11th.

Kids Trip to Grand Paradise Waterpark: This Wednesday, August 3rd, all kids are invited to join us for a day of fun at the waterpark in Collins. The cost is $10 per person, which covers admission to the park and lunch. We will meet at Grand Paradise at 10am. We need to have a minimum of 10 people sign up in order to make the trip, so if you plan to attend please let Kristen know as soon as possible. Children under the age of 5 must be accompanied by an adult.

Christian Food Mission: In order to keep the food bank stocked for those who are referred for grocery assistance, WPC has been asked to provide Grits & Cooking Oil. You may leave your donations in the box located in the atrium or bring them to the church office by Wednesday.

Hymn Sing: This Wednesday, August 3rd, there will be a Hymn Sing at Bay Street Presbyterian Church in Hattiesburg. Jeremy Britt and Jordan Graves will be helping to lead worship. Feel free to join us in Hattiesburg for a great time singing praises to our Lord.

Wednesday Nights at Westminster Begin on August 17th: We are excited to introduce a new Wednesday night program for our kids called, “Four Corners Cafe’” where we will be introduced to Westminster’s missionaries from all over the world!  Each Wednesday night will involve an in depth look into where we are partnering to take the gospel.   This involves experiencing the culture of that particular corner of the world.  For this to be all it can be we need your involvement.  Please consider volunteering to help Kristen with this vital ministry within our church.  Your help might just be used by God to light the fire of missions in the heart of a child!  If you are interested, please call the church office.

Center for Pregnancy Choices: This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Laurel CPC! Thanks to the support of churches like Westminster, this organization has been ministering to families facing unplanned pregnancies in our community for two decades. Join us in celebrating by being a table host at the fundraising banquet, Thursday, October 6th from 6-8 at The Gables. Luke Johnson is the keynote speaker, and there are lots of special plans in the works to commemorate 20 years of faithful ministry. There is no cost to host a table, just fill it with eight friends! If you would like to be a table host, or simply attend the banquet, talk to Sorrel Duncan, or contact the CPC at 601-428-4357. Don't miss this opportunity to celebrate, and to learn more about the exciting ways the CPC is expanding its services, and its reach into our community with the gospel message of hope.
