I writc on bchalf of Linda Henninger, a Kings Park constituent and civic lcadcr, whorccently sought public disclosure of various preces of conespondence tom the Empire StatcDevslspmcnt Coqporation (ESDC) conccrning thc portion of Nissequoguc Rivcr State Parkformerly lcrown as thc Kings Park Psychiatric Center.Enclosed are two of the documents produced by ESDC that wcrc authored by you. Ineach, thcre are references made to "additional housing" and/or "appropriatcly-scaled workforcehousing" as it reldtes to the park property. In addition, it appears from thc mcmoranda that

specific rccommcndations were offered to thc Governor's Office as to the funrre use orredevelopment of this property. Howcvcr, as you can see such recommendations wereintentionally omitted from discloslue. An appeal by Ms. Henninger to seek the full disclosurc ofthis information was denicd.Givcn the contents of these docurnents, it rs clcar that the former Administration hadcontemplatcd using this property for purposes other than parkland or recreational usc. Moreover,it is rcasonablc to bclicve that the current Administration is still considering dcveloping thispropcrty with some type of housing component since no statement has been released to thecontrary.As you lsrow, my office has bccn worktng closely with you and thc Office of Parks onthis matter for thq past2% years. IMrile there havc bccn some st,ps made to advance positiveaction on this propcrty, the Adminisbation still remains silcnt on the basic qucstion of whether itwill remain parkland into the funrc.Based upon tho foregoing, wc rcspectfully requcst a copy of the full text of thesedocumcnts with no delaions.
