An unofficial note to all RMAC members from Hubert de Chastel.

OUR OWN CLUB SONG? ? ?

A song we could sing-1. as a group when we have visitors to our field2. as a group when we go to other fields3, or just for our own personal use, anywhere, anytime.

I personally think that would be something we should have.

Please consider the possibility and let me know your thoughts before the end of July, aboutwhether you liked the idea, are willing to help with its composition, or whatever,so that we can have something to present at our end of year function this year, which will be our65 th anniversary.

Rocky Helicopter Fun Fly Report

Once again we had our annual fun fly. We had 6 eager heli flyers drive down all the way fromTownsville and 3 local boys. Unfortunately it was a small attendance this year howevereveryone had a great weekend even though the weather wasn’t good for flying!!!!

The meals for the weekend were provided for the travellers by the club, with everyone full aftereach meal. A big thank you to our new member Tom Bunning who arranged for his wife tohelp with some cooking. From all accounts everyone was happy with her lasagne, chicken stirfry & triffle.

Thanks to our president who came out as a club representative and to the other club memberswho came out to support our event on both days.

Due to low numbers this year and the uncertainty of it being financially viable, next years eventis in doubt, we hope over the next 12 months more people will join and support this event as itis a weekend we would like to continue hosting!

Thanks again, Bert Gilbert & Richard Fay

NSW Control Line Champs

Barry Fredrickson attended the NSW control line champs in June and picked up 3 rd in classic and3rd in vintage stunt. Congratulations Barry!

Maryborough Weekend

Several RMAC members attended the Maryborough weekend. The weekend consisted solely ofcontrol line flying, with plenty of models of display. Reports were that the weekend wasthoroughly enjoyed by all and I believe that free flight will be back on the agenda next year!

The display at the airport was very wellsupported by the general public with solidnumbers throughout the entire morning. Our static display looked very impressiveand the public showed a keen interest inour display of model aircraft. The Spitfireis flown by a father and son team who aretravelling around the coast of Australia toraise funds for the leukaemia foundation.

All proceeds for the display went to theleukaemia foundation. This was anexcellent event for the club to attend asthe people present at the display had a

genuine interest in aircraft, engines andflight in general. Thank you to all themembers who attended the event andpromoted our club.
