The Summer Activities Program kicks off July 2 Friends, family and fun in the sun. Lake Junaluska’s Summer Activities Program is sure to bring all three together. The Fourth of July weekend kicks off this year’s Summer Activities Program. Through charitable giving, the four- year-old program is a catalyst to help residents and visitors alike find commu- nity and make memories. This year, the program is taking the Fourth of July celebrations to a whole new level. From races to clogging lessons; yoga to movie nights and so much more, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. Want to experience the beauty of Lake Junaluska from the water, but not sure how to? Take advantage of the canoe and paddleboard lessons on Thursday, July 2. The cost for lessons is $5 with- out a rental and $15 with one. Contact Wilson Booth, director of youth ministry at [email protected]. Put those canoe paddling skills to the test on Friday, July 3, and sign up for the Swamped Canoe Race. Wilson Booth, director of youth ministry, describes the event as “a wet and wacky canoe race. If you can paddle a canoe above water, find out if you can canoe below water.” Register for this race online. The Fourth of July weekend kicks off this year’s Summer Activities Program. Through charitable giving, the four-year-old program is a catalyst to help residents and visitors alike find commu-nity and make memories.

This year, the program is taking the Fourth of July celebrations to a whole new level. From races to clogging lessons; yoga to movie nights and so much more, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Want to experience the beauty of Lake Junaluska from the water, but not sure how to? Take advantage of the canoe and paddleboard lessons on Thursday, July 2. The cost for lessons is $5 with-out a rental and $15 with one. Contact Wilson Booth, director of youth ministry at [email protected].

Upcoming Summer Activities Program Events

The Lake Junaluska Golf Course is buzzing this summer with activites that are perfect for all ages.

This 18-hole golf course is a fun and challenging 68 par course that anyone can play. The course lends a beautiful view of Lake Junaluska and the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains.

“We are thrilled to see so many people enjoying the golf course this summer. To ensure everyone’s safety, we are following all of the CDC’s guidelines and sanitizing all carts and all clubhouse and course surfaces throughout the day,” said Fred Edwards, director of golf operations. “We hope that people will take advantage of the wholesome environment, beautiful setting and exceptional playing conditions that will provide renewal this Fourth of July.”

On the Fourth of July, the golf course

will host several different events. The pro shop will host a Fourth of July sale on July 2-5, with all merchandise marked down. On July 4, the golf course will host a Closest to the Pin contest, with prizes to be awarded.

Along with the contest, the golf course will host four 30-minute chipping clinics at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on July 2. Clinics will be $15 per person. Visit the pro shop to sign up.

The golf course will also host an Associates Tournament on July 31, a Fall 4-Ball on October 10-11 and an ongoing College Tournament that runs June 15-December 31.

Along with those events, the golf course participates in the PGA Jr. League. This league is intended to help bring family and friends together for fun, team golf experiences with expert coaching from a

PGA Professional.
