As our year comes to a close, I would like to thank all those who gave so much to our guild. We’ve had fabulous programs, great workshops, retreats and a mystery bus trip. We also had an incredible quilt show, a beautiful raffle quilt, a very entertaining UFO auction and we continue to donate quilts to charity. This greatness only happens when members care enough to volunteer

and make MVQ the best guild in the area. I can never say THANK YOU enough to all of you! I especially want to thank Betty Dahlquist and Jan Taylor for their service on the executive board and a HUGE thank you to all who volunteered to serve on next year’s boards. We have one more meeting and Gladi Porsche will be our featured speaker. We also need to fin-ish our charity quilts so we can present them to our charity NE Rehab Network. We will have

Show and Tell and a book swap so remember to bring your quilts and a few good books. I’m also hoping that some new volunteers with big hearts and a little spare time will join the team and fill some open spots on the board. It really is the best way to get to know other members bet-ter. We need a meeting vendor chair; a mystery bus trip chair; a 2016/17-program chair and next year’s quilt show chairs.

See you on the 18th and remember we open at 6 for socializing! Ann

2017 Raffle Quilt Fabric Guidelines 1 Set is equal to (3) four inch squares of fabric all cut from the same fabric.

OR a larger set of up to (5) four inch squares all of the same fabric. Give us all you got! We need a variety of colors in lights, mediums and darks, quilt shop quality and perhaps

newer to your stash.

Clear tones, fabrics that read as one color, prints, textured solids, subtle stripes, plaids,

checks, dots, geometric.

Think all colors like: Turquoise, teal, seafoam and jade; lime, mint, olive, tarragon, and greens from the garden; red, burgundy, berry, pink, magenta, coral, melon, peach, tangerine,

orange; daffodil, butter, honey yellow and soft gold, cool grays light and mediums; lilac,

grapey purple or grayed purple, amethyst; and the blues, denim blue, navy, royal, marine and

periwinkle; a few browns, chestnut, chocolate and tan.

Just NO old stuff, no fabrics that are more than 50% white, huge prints which do not read as

any particular color and true solids. Hope this helps. Bring to the June meeting– basket at

back table.

Sunshine Lady: Mary Jo Ray If you know of someone who needs a bit of sunshine in their

life, please contact Mary Jo on her phone please!

Guild RE-Location Committee is attempting to find an alternative

for our monthly meetings. We need a warmer space that seats 100, plenty of parking (at least 50 cars) and handicap accessibili ty.A

sound system would be a plus.Cost is a factor and greatly impacts our operating budget. We are a non-profit 501 c organization so there is often a discount as well as one for church or organization membership. If you know of a place we should check out, please send any details to Ann Hockmeyer.

From Jeannie Elliot to all who helped with the refresh-ment table this year and to all who brought in all the deli-cious goodies!

A reminder

If you were still working on a toilet paper roll charity quilt to please try and finish them and

bring them to the June meeting so they can be delivered with the other comfort

quilts. Thanks. Gail
