June 2019 Monthly Catalogue Welcome to the June 2019 edition of the NHBS Monthly Catalogue, which lists all new titles added to our website in the last month. This month we lead with an exceptionally strong list of forthcoming bird titles. Princeton University Press will publish Oceanic Birds of the World: A Photo Guide in November, while Lynx is publishing a further three field guides in their Lynx and BirdLife International Field Guides series, Birds of the West Indies, due June, and Birds of Japan and Birds of Cambodia, both due in July. CSIRO will publish the third edition of Birds of Prey of Australia: A Field Guide in July, while John Beaufoy is publishing the second edition of A Photographic Field Guide to the Birds of Sri Lanka in September, as well as two site guides, The 50 Best Birdwatching Sites In New Zealand, due August, and 125 Best Bird Watching Sites in India, due November. Of more national interest will be Bloomsbury's RSPB Garden Birds, due November, and Where to Watch Birds in Berkshire: 20 of the Best Sites, published by the Birds of Berkshire Atlas Group, which is in stock now. Lastly, we have three more art-oriented titles with Hummingbirds, Volume 1: North America, Central America & Caribbean from the Gorgas Science Foundation, which is in stock now, a paperback reprint of The Norfolk Cranes' Story, and the forthcoming bilingual book Turn the Tide: Birds around the North Sea, due in October from KNNV. For other animal groups we have a couple of titles each worth mentioning. Cambridge University Press will publish Studying Primates: How to Design, Conduct and Report Primatological Research in October, while Bloomsbury will publish Handbook of Whales, Dolphins and Porpoises in November. Njoka Books has just published Venomous Snakes of Malawi: An Identification Guide to the 20 Species of Snake Considered Venomous to Humans in Malawi, which is in stock now, while John Beaufoy has announced A Naturalist’s Guide to the Snakes of Australia for October. For entomologists Random House Struik will publish the second edition of A Guide to the Dragonflies & Damselflies of South Africa in August, while NatureBureau has announced a very exciting title for October: Life Cycles of British & Irish Butterflies. It has been almost a century since this was last attempted. For botanists there are three titles to look out for. Natural History Publications Borneo has jus released A Field Guide to Aquatic Plants of Myanmar and A Guide to Wild Fruits of Borneo, while the FSC has released a new fold-out guide titled Guide to the Non-Native Invasive Plants of Britain and Ireland. We have an exceptionally strong line up of conservation biology titles from Oxford University Press to announce.
