Solemnity of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist “What, then, will this child be?”

Most parents and grandparents can relate to this thoughtful wondering that the people of Elizabeth & Zechariah’s village had more than 5000 years ago. The wise saying “it takes a village to raise a child” is very true. The people of the village were first hand witnesses to God at work on earth. God had given Elizabeth & Zechariah a child in their old age. And then when Zechariah had doubted, God froze his tongue. These are huge events for the folks living in the hill country, so how do you suppose the village was going to help raise John the Baptist? They were probably afraid of the whole family. Treating them not as a part of the community but, as though they were strange. How do we treat children and people who are “a little off”? Look around and be honest, do you know how many children are autistic or mentally challenged in our village? Ok, so maybe we don’t stare, but, do we pray for the children and family? When a child makes choices that lands them in jail do we pray for them or their family? Today let us look at all children and people with re-focused eyes. Let us focus on Christ present in everybody. We can talk directly to God everyday in the way we speak and interact with others, especially children. God is present in you and everyone you meet. He created us with the same breath of life that entered into Adam. All children, including you, have the opportunity to “be” exactly what God created you to be. So let us magnify and nurture God’s Kingdom here on earth and treat all people with dignity + respect=Love

Solemnidad de la Natividad de San Juan Bautista

“¿Qué va a ser de este niño?” La mayoría de los padres y abuelos pueden relacionarse con esto cuidadoso pensando que el pueblo de Isabel y Zacarías, la aldea tenía más de 5000 años atrás. El refrán "se requiere una aldea para criar a un niño" es muy cierto. Los habitantes de la aldea fueron testigos de primera mano de Dios en el trabajo de la tierra. Dios había dado a Isabel & Zacarías un hijo en su vejez. Y luego cuando Zacarías dudaba, Dios se congeló su

lengua. Estos eventos son enormes para la gente que vive en la montaña, así que, ¿cómo se supone que el pueblo iba a ayudar a elevar a Juan el Bautista? Probable-mente eran temerosos de toda la familia. No tratarlos co-mo parte de la comunidad, pero, como si fueran extraños. ¿Cómo tratamos a los niños y las personas que son un poco "diferentes"? Mire a su alrededor y sea honesto, ¿sabe cuántos niños son autistas o mentales en nuestra comunidad? Ok, así que tal vez no nos miran, pero no oramos por los hijos y familiares? Cuando un niño hace opciones que aterriza en la cárcel no oramos por ellos o sus familiares? Hoy nos referiremos a todos los niños y las personas con re-centrado en los ojos. Centrémonos en Cristo, presente en todo el mundo. Podemos hablar direc-tamente a Dios todos los días en nuestro modo de hablar e interactuar con otras personas, especialmente los niños. Dios está presente en ustedes y todos aquellos con quienes nos encontramos. Él nos ha creado con el mismo soplo de vida que entró en Adán. Updating Ethics & Integrity

Since we now have a new Promoter of Justice, some things have changed and are being redirected at the Diocese. During this time of change many of our parishioners who were compliant will be coming out and need to have re-certification. We have been granted a grace period for re-certification. Many will need to re-certify in September & October. As soon as Certification and Re-Certification are available we will have a weekend here at St. Francis where everyone will be able to get caught up. People who need to consider Certification or Re-Certification are:

ya que ahora tenemos un nuevo promotor de justicia, algunas cosas han cambiado y son redirigidos a la Diócesis.
