As of this writing, we do not have final totals, but it was clear by watching the activity last weekend that this community loves its parish and school. To Michelle Vandenhouten and Britney Fowler, we send a huge expression of gratitude for sharing your skill, love, energy and time in organizing this grand event! We have 14 successful 8th grade graduates! Our drive-through celebration last Friday was great fun. Afterward, graduates and staff met online for the traditional Roast and Toast, and the videos were quite the entertainment. For all manner of reasons, more videos have been made this year than any year in school history, I am positive! Our students have completed almost all of their work with a few loose ends to be tied up. It is GREAT to see you coming to school this week to clean desks and lockers and to say 'so long' for the summer. Our school has come through 2019-2020 with our mission successfully accomplished and with pride. We have learned our academic lessons, have continued to learn the importance of our faith and, even in stay-at- home days, practiced being the hands and feet of Jesus to serve and help others. We will have a FRIDAY DRIVE-THROUGH CELEBRATION AT 11:00 AM!! Teachers will be outside, lined up along the driving route from the west playground entrance through the circle drive in front of church. See details in the newsletter and remember to stay in your vehicle, please! We look forward to 2020-2021 as we hope the world moves closer to health and safety. We are already planning adjustments to keep our school environment safe and productive for all of our children. Our small class sizes are indeed a plus! We ask all of you in our school community to join our Memorare Army. Please continue to pray for our school to thrive. It seems to be working! We will keep in touch over the summer. For the time being, we are planning five day a week business as usual, and are also being realistic and following the guidelines of science. Mr. Kurt is committed to keeping us and our school safe. As he said today, we will not be caught flat-footed! We will pay attention and plan for alternatives. We wish you a wonderful summer break, time to put the school work and pressure away and have some family time and playtime! We will let you know when yearbooks are in. Sincerely, Mary MacDonald Principal, St. Bruno Parish School

FRIDAY DRIVE-THROUGH CELEBRATION AT 11:00 AM!!

Your St. Bruno Staff wants to celebrate the successful end of 2019-20 with you, and to have one more opportunity to wish you well. You are invited to an all-school drive-through celebration this Friday, June 5, at 11:00 am to celebrate the finish line! Teachers and Staff members will be outside along the driveway area, just waiting to wave and cheer with you. Very important: all families must remain in their vehicles. ENTER THE WEST PLAYGROUND DRIVEWAY ENTRANCE, drive slowly, and head up toward the parish office and through the circle drive in front of church. We begin at 11:00 am and teachers will be in place until noon. Feel free to drive through twice! Hoping to see you Friday! (Noisemakers encouraged)

Tornado Safety at Home We normally have a tornado drill at school at this time of year, so this is one more very important

item for parents to discuss.

Consider these questions: What should you do if you are home and there is a

tornado? Where would you go and what would you take with you? What is a tornado warning? What is a tornado drill? Tornado watch?

Children should memorize parents' cell numbers and their home address.

Our Men Who Cook Auction was a great success. Thank you to everyone who

donated their time, talent, and treasure to support the auction! Final numbers

will be shared with the community in the next few weeks.

SCHOOL GARDEN!

Dear Families,

We are very excited to share our garden with you and ask for your help over the summer. We have planned and planted a garden for our end of the year project. We did research on plant needs, plant reproduction, and budgeting as we planned. A few plants we are excited to grow are peas, beans, strawberries, mammoth sunflowers, tomatoes, and carrots. Summer Break is coming soon and we will need volunteers to take care of our garden during the school’s summer vacation. Jobs such as water-ing and weeding will need to be done weekly to help make our garden be successful! You are welcome to harvest the veggies for your home kitchen!

We are really excited to see our garden grow and would love for your family to enjoy it, too. We have put together a binder filled with instructions and fun facts about our garden and its plants. There is also some bird seed for our bird feeders to be refilled. All of this can be found in the black bin in the court-yard. If you’re interested in being a part of making our garden successful, follow the link below to sign up for a week to care for the garden.

Thank You!
