JWU Has Strong Showing in Non-Conference Games
The JWU softball team returned from Florida itching to play more softball. After two weeks of practice, the Wildcats have taken the field against--Emerson, Roger Williams, Rhode Island College, and Framingham State--outscoring their opponents 90-24 in only 7 games. The Wildcats have now won 9 in a row and look to bring more of their explosive play as they open their conference season against Rivier on Saturday, April 9th for a double header scheduled for 12:00pm.

Wildcats Start Season With Strong Showing in Florida
The Wildcats competed in 8 games at The Spring Games in Clermont, FL at the beginning of March. After opening the week 1-1, including a tough 1-0 loss to #12 St. John Fisher, the Wildcat’s offense exploded and wrapped up two victories on Wednesday against Elizabethtown and Mount Union--scoring 17 runs and only giving up six.
Two tough losses on Friday put the Wildcats at .500 going into the final day of their Spring Break trip. With another explosive offensive performance, the team finished the week with wins over Catholic and Wartburg.
Overall, it was a very successful week and the team was overwhelmed with the amount of support they received from our fans who traveled from near and far to cheer on the Wildcats!

NEWS FROM THE DUGOUT
Since the fall, the Wildcats have partaken in a number of community service opportunities. Starting with gathered supplies to send care packages the 332D Expeditionary Communications Squadron stationed in Kuwait. One of the soldiers in the squadron was JWU employee Rich Moore. The team also went to visit with some residents at the Scandinavian Home, an assisted living facility in Cranston, RI. The team socialized and played Bingo with several residents. In the spring we are teaming up with the Pink Heals organization. The team will hold a Strike Out Cancer Game on April 9th to help raise funds for the women and families affected by cancer.
