Rumor has it summer will be coming to Michigan! With the extended winter this year

Tecumseh Parks & Recreation is ready to head outside for some fun! Check out all the fun activities we

have planned for all ages this summer from the Kid's Fishing Derby to Sand Volleyball

there is something for everyone!

Kid's Fishing DerbySaturday June 9 at

9 AM until 11 AM at

Tecumseh Park (The Pit).

This event is Free!

Bring your pole & bucket

and we'll provide the fun!

Buschs will be providing a

free hot dog lunch.

Golf Camp

Fore! Parks and Recreation is teaming up with Raisin Valley Golf Course again this

year to offer a golf camp for boys and girls ages 8 - 14. This three week camp meets

on Tuesdays and Thursday at Raisin Valley Golf Course from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM

July 10 - July 26. Golf Camp will foster a love of the game while focusing on proper

hitting techniques and form for your young Lydia Ko or Patrick Reed.

Players are asked to bring their own clubs, however, rentals are available.

Cost: $55/participant

Register by June 28 - space is limited!

Art CampSummer Art Camp returns to John W. Smith Park!

Grab your beret and join us for one or two creative, inspiring,

and fun art camp sessions.

Each camp will run Monday through Thursday

10 AM - 11:30 AM

Camps will be held at John W. Smith Park

Final day of camp will feature an art show,

highlighting our art camper's creations.

Each four day camp will feature unique projects

inspired by local art educators!

Cost $65; $55 city residents per camp

1st - 3rd grade

Sand Volleyball

Join us in the sand for some volleyball! 4 v 4 format, co-ed recreation/social

league with up to 8 per team. Register a team

or sign up solo to be placed on a team. Ages 18 and up;

minimum 3 teams; max of 10. Cost is $160/team or $40/single Wednesdays July 11 - August 29

6 PM - 9 PM Register by June 28

Race the River Run!

Join us at Globe Mill Pond for our Canoe and Kayak races held this year on Saturday, July 14. Separate heats for tandem kayaks, single kayaks, and canoes as teams of two and individualstackle the River Raisin Run. This 3 mile looped water trail features two ponds, one raceway, a

glorious stretch on the River Raisin, and several portages, including the challenging Globe Mill Hill! With prizes and bragging rights, you'll want to start training now!

Races are for ages 16 and up. Cost per person: $6; $5 city residents

All ages can test their slalom, sprint, and shuttle skills during "paddle the ponds" for FREE.

Check in beginning at 8:45 AM July 14. Tandem kayak races: 9:30 AM

Single kayak races: 10 AM Canoe Races: 10:30 AM Paddle the Ponds 11 AM

Bring your own watercraft or rent asingle kayak or canoe through theTecumseh Paddling Company the

day of the race. Please note, doublekayaks will not be available for

rental.

Fall Soccer

Registration

Soccer CampJoin Coach Jerry Nowak and the State ranked THS

Varsity Soccer team for a chance to hone your soccer

skills prior to the start of the season! Coach Nowak and

his team will help you improve your shooting, passing, ball

skills, and defense. Soccer camp will be a fun and positive

experience for players. Get ready for games, contests, run

stations/drills, and plenty of fun! Shin guards are required.

When: July 30 - August 2

Ages 5 - 7 @ 5:30 PM - 6:15 PM

Ages 8 - 11 @ 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Where: Cal Zorn Park

Cost: Ages 5 - 7: $50; $40 city resident

Ages 8 - 11: $70; $60 city resident

Gym Games

Opens

July 18!

Wednesday afternoons come join our recreation programmers, Dylan Kirn and

Maggie Ross, to play organized gym games! They will feature a different sport or

game each week beginning Wednesday July 11 through August 8!

2:30 - 3:30 PM for ages 6-12 and then from 3:30 - 4:30 they will enjoy open gym!

Cost is $5/child each week

Music in the Park on July 19 will feature a Kid's Night!

We will have activities for kids to participate in

throughout the evening!

This takes place at Adams Park next door to City Hall

beginning at 5:30 PM.
