RABBI’S MESSAGE DENNIS ROSS

First Impressions As I look back on my first days with you at Monroe Temple, I am very taken by the warm and caring spirit that makes this such a lovely community. There have been and will continue to be challenges, for sure. Yet the spirit of progress and hope stands out, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be your rabbi and partner in the days and months ahead. I am still in a period of what we call “assessment” in the interim rabbi world, as your leaders and I identify and highlight what makes Monroe Temple your unique spiritual home. I am very impressed with the level of Jewish background, knowledge and abil-ity, seen in how readily and well members step up to share lessons of Torah, lead wor-ship and teach our children – you don’t see that in many other places. I am also work-ing with your leaders to explore opportunities for bringing growth and strength. Even in these challenging times, we are seeing potential and promise. Again, I am enjoying the time with Temple members, especially when we have a chance to sit down in my study or meet for coffee to chat and get better acquainted. Please feel free to be in touch with me at [email protected] to pick out a good time for you. The holiday of Hanukkah speaks to a time of renewal and re-dedication. May this Ha-nukkah bring each of us even closer to comfort, community and strength. With best Hanukkah wishes, Rabbi Dennis Ross Interim Rabbi Monroe Temple Beth-El
