Kandhamal Peace Centre Activities

July-September ‘15

1. Organisation of peace campaign at the community level in places like Daringbadi, Udaygiri,

Kotagada, Khajuripada; with Phulbani district as the head quarter.

2. Films such as ‘PADOSHI’, ‘BAPU’ AND ‘RAM KI NAM PAR’, with messages of unity and

cultural diversity, were shown to college students in the following educational institutions:

a) Rusimal College, Brahmnigaon

b) B.R Ambedkar College, Daringbadi

c) K.B.Hist. College, Phulbani

d) Sanskrit Sevashram Vidyapitha, Phulbani

3. Valuable Peace Quotations/ Appeals for Peace and Harmony were printed and circulated

among students and general masses.

4. Mutual interaction has been started among the cross sections of the students about the role of student & youths to build peace and harmony within the society. As per the decision of 'Co-ordination Committee' it was decided to organize week long (25th September-2nd October) campaign among the student masses. To carry forward the decision along with the Secretary and Chairperson of the campaign Mr. Sumant Karna, Mr. Prasanta Pradhan, Mr. Debendra Mantry visited various colleges like G. Udaygiri College at G.Udaygiri, VISWASS & NISWASS and K.B.Hist. College of Phulbani & Dr.B.R.Ambedkar College of Daringbadi and interacted with them about the objective of the campaign.

Accordingly programme were organized; as interaction among the students on the subject like 'Role of Student & Youth towards building of communal

Harmony 'at Biju Pattnayak Institute of Technology(BPIT)\ Don Bosco Technology, Phulbani.

5. Road March(Padayatra) & Observation of Gandhi Jayanty On the eve of Gandhi Jayanty on 2nd October a 'Road March' (Padayatra) was organized taking the students of various educational institutions at Phulbani district headquarter.

Chanting various slogans on peace & harmony procession of students was covered Phulbani town and gathered near Gandhi Statue (Gandhi Chhak) and paid their homage to the great man on the occasion.

Programme was over after some briefing about the objective and importance of the day by Md. Abdul Sukur, Chair-person of 'Campaign For Peace'.On behalf of the 'Campaign For Peace' Md. Abdul Sukur- Chairman, Mr. Prasant Pradhan, Mr. Rajkishor Padhi and Mr. Sumant Karna were coordinated all the activities. 6. Reading Room Activities

As an ongoing activities 'Reading Room' has been continuing at our new office premises.
