Most of you would now be over the Eid ul Adhacelebrations and most BBQ parties will be over. Now isthe beginning of the somber month of Moharam ulHaraam and as usual the activities at Karachi Club wouldbe limited. We had in our previous edition requested allour members and their immediate families to send theirachievements if any during the calendar year 2016, pleasedo send them to Karachi Club with a picture of theachiever, membership number and the proof ofachievement, as we intend to acknowledge theirachievements. A program is planned for the end ofNovember and we must receive all entries by the end ofOctober to evaluate the entries.

Billiards & SnookerThe 20th Edition of KC Open Snooker Challenge2016 was organized at Amir Bux Snooker Roomof the Club from 25th August. This being the primetournament in the Snooker Calendar of the Clubattracted lots of enthusiasm. As many as 54 clubmembers participated in the first phase of thetournament. In the Semi Finals, Umer Saleem beatHussain Ferozpur and Baqar Kamani beat AbdulBasit Shivany to qualify for the finals where asBaqar Kamani beat Umer Saleem by 4/2 and wonthe title. Baqar Kamani also got highest breakof 93 points.

Convener Ashfaque Ghory along with his“Health & Fitness “ Sub-Committee organizedyet another fantastic program on Friday 2nd,September 2016 on the subject of “HealthySkin”. The Guest speaker on the occasion wasDr. Nazia Shakeel, a well know dermatologistin Karachi. Mr. Ashfaque Ghory, Convener Maintenance has yetanother feather in his cap. Again in a record lowbudget he has refurbished the Snack Bar which wasnot done for a number of years. The Snack Bar nowgives a refreshing new look with the air-conditioningunits also upgraded. Below are the pictures of therenovated Snack Bar.

On Friday 30th, September 2016, ConvenerFinance Mr. Mohammad Sohail Yaqooband his Committee organized a seminaron “End to End Supply Chain Management& Logistics”. Mr. Mohammad Hanif Ajari,Director Supply Chain, Commercial &Company Secretary Getz Pharma (Pvt)Limited was the guest speaker on theoccasion. Mr. Mohammad Hanif Ajari isconsidered to be an authority on the

subject and most members who attendedthe seminar will vouch for his knowledgeon the subject.
