INTRODUCTION
Site visit Karangkraf at Lot 2, Jalan Sepana 15/3, Off Persiaran Selangor, Seksyen 15, 40200 Shah Alam, Selangor.

Attended by 25 students of Bachelor (Hons.) Business Computing.
Objective of the site visit: to fulfill our syllabus needs to gain new knowledge apply what we have learned in class to the real world learn the process involved to produce a quality book
Kumpulan Karangkraf started its business in a humble little shop lot in 1978
Its founder Hussamuddin bin Hj. Yaacub had a simple dream of interpreting white pages into great opportunities.
Aim: An established publication and printing firm and distributor of magazines, books and printed materials in South East Asia that meets world quality standards.

COMPANY FOUNDER
• Dato' Hussamuddin Yaacob
• 53 years old
• Born at Kota Bharu, Kelantan
• His wife’s name is Datin Jamilah Yahya
• His father’s name is Allahyarham Haji Yaacob Idris, and he have risen all his children only from the earning of small bookshop which is ‘Toko Buku Yaacob Idris’
• a straight-talking businessman with a passion for his industry
• “I was born in the back of a bookshop. You could say I’ve been vertically integrating ever since: All I’ve done since I left Universiti Kebangsaan with my Economics degree is focus on books, magazines, publishing and printing!” he declares.

BACKGROUND OF COMPANY
Started its business in a humble little shop lot in 1978. Its founder Hussamuddin Bin Hj Yaakob had a simple dream of interpreting white page into great opportunities.
Before this he organized a small workforce to begin publishing the company’s maiden magazine called Mingguan Kanak-Kanak. Then followed by weekly tabloid, Bacaria, Watan, Media Hiburan, Remaja and Nona.
The magazine become extremely popular and circulation grew in leaps and bounds.
For more than 20 years, Karangkraf stood boldly on the streets of Taman Tun Dr Ismail and Jalan Pencala, Petaling Jaya. In 2002 the company moved to Shah Alam and settle in its own complex. Known as Karangkraf Complex, the pure building on 12.5 acres captures the sight of road users whenever they pass along Section 15.
The complex enables all Karangkraf operations under be conducted under one roof. In providing a conductive working place, the company believes that it will create a healthy and happy environment for the staff.
Today Kumpulan Karangkraf in undoubtedly the most successful publisher placing 28 well-known magazine and I daily newspaper on shelves nationwide and stand as publishing force to be reckoned with. Kumpulan Karangkraf now hold the proud mantle of leader in a challenging and demanding industry.

• Throughout the years, Karangkraf group has garnered many accolades from various fields. This is testament of the group’s dedication towards excellence. Among the awards are:

Lesson Learned
CONCLUSION• As a conclusion, after we have done the visit, we have
learned that there is no easy road to be a success person. Everything we want to do, we need to start from below. If we want to survive, we need to become a creative and innovative person, so anything that is given to us, we can face it. Confident and always make a target for our achievement are the most important thing. Decision making is an important step in a business, so we need high confident level if we want to success. As a result, we can see that Kumpulan Karangkraf today is undoubtedly to become the most successful publisher in Malaysia.
