Non-Member Participation Fee

The Non-Member Participation Fee applies to dogs wholly owned by a resident of Canada who is not a member of the CKC, it is not applicable to CKC members or dogs co-owned with a CKC member. In order for the title to be awarded, the non-member will have a choice of either be-coming a CKC member or paying the Non-Member Participation Fee. Failure to comply within thirty (30) days of notification will result in the title being withheld and the dog cannot be moved up. The Non-Member Participation Fee is fee paid in the calendar year (January-December) in which the dog achieved its title.

CKC RULE BOOK-SECTION 15

15.1.1 A dog awarded Winners at a conformation show shall be credited with a number of championship points (ranging from 0 to 5) and the number of championship points credited to a dog awarded Winners shall be as provided hereunder.

15.1.2 The schedule to be employed in the determination of the number of points awarded Winners shall be as follows:

JUDGING PROCEDURE

Judging of the All-Breed Puppy Sweepstakes (sexes combined) will commence at approximately noon. However, if necessary, a later starting time may be announced. Please check the judging program for further details. Breed judging will start again at the scheduled time. Within each group, puppies will be judged in order of age.

RULES and AWARDS

All dogs between 6 & 18 months on the date of the show shall be eligible to compete, regardless of place of birth. All dogs entered in the Sweepstakes must also be entered in a regular class at the ALL-BREED Show on the day of the Sweepstakes. Money received as entry fee for the sweepstakes will be pooled and divided as follows:

1st in each class 25% of entry fees received for that class

2nd in each class 25% of entry fees received for that class

3rd in each class 15% of entry fees received for that class

4th in each class 10% of entry fees received for that class

N.B. The remainder of the entry fees will be retained to cover administration costs. Rosettes will be awarded for Best in each Group and Best in Sweepstakes. Flat rib-bons will be awarded for 1st to 4th in each class. If a dog is required for judging in one of the regular classes, judging of the sweepstakes in that group will be suspended until judging of the regular class has been completed.

NOVICE/OWNER/HANDLER COMPETITION

SATURDAY JULY 22 AND SUNDAY JULY 23, 2017

This completion is restricted to amateur competitors.

Baby Puppies are not eligible for this competition.

The Novice/Owner/Handler (OH) must be checked in the entry form.

1. This is open to all non-professional Novice -Owner /Handlers. Professional is de-fined as anyone who has been hired to assist a handler or paid to handle or received remuneration or a licensed / permit judge. Dogs must be NOVICE OH throughout the competition. 2. Judging of NOVICE OH will take place after Breed Judging Competition unless au-tomatic. 3. NOVICE OH Best of Breed will be selected from the dogs eligible to compete for BB. 4. If the Best of Breed dog is NOVICE OH it will automatically be the NOVICE OH BB. 5. If ineligible, then the next highest NOVICE OH placement will compete against the eligible dogs of the opposite sex. 6. Should none of the BB competitive dogs be NOVICE OH then any NOVICE OH dogs (not directly or indirectly defeated in the classes by an NOVICE OH dog) will be invit-ed back. 7. The NOVICE OH BB dogs will compete for Best NOVICE OH in Group immediately after Regular Group Judging. 8. Should the Regular Group 1st dog be NOVICE OH then it will be automatically NOVICE OH in Group. 9. If the BIS dog is NOVICE OH, then it will automatically be NOVICE OH BIS 11. A flat ribbon will be offered for Best NOVICE OH in Breed, a Rosette for Best NOVICE OH in Group, a prize for NOVICE OH in Group (Saturday & Sunday) and a Rosette and prize for Best NOVICE OH in Show. *** If you are a NOVICE -OWNER / HANDLER make sure that you check off the box on the entry form in order to be eligible to compete.

Veteran:

In this class , dogs must be 7 years of age and over on the day of the show. Dogs en-tered in this class may be spayed or neutered. The awards for this class are:

Best Male Veteran and Best Female Veteran ,

Best Veteran in Breed

Best Veteran in Group

Best Veteran in Show

A Veteran awarded Best Veteran in Breed is not required to stay to compete for Best Veteran in Group. A veteran awarded Best Veteran in Group is not required to stay to compete for Best Veteran in Show.

Altered:

The breed standards for each breed shall be followed except as defined below.

All disqualifications shall apply except for those which disallow sexually altered dogs from regular conformation competition.

Eligibility for the altered class shall be limited to dogs over 6 months of age which have been spayed or neutered by veterinary procedure.

Points may not be carried from the regular competition judging to the Altered class judging.

These classes shall be for any spayed or neutered dogs over 6 months of age. Dogs will be judged after the judging of the Best Puppy in Breed in the Regular classes, and after Veteran Classes.

KARS DOG CLUB - PERPETUAL TROPHIES*

* All perpetual trophies are retained by the Club.

The Severn Trophy for Best Canadian Bred in Show is donated by Owen & Belle Severn, (Merkur reg’d and Staffhaven perm reg’d.) for dogs from the Canadian Bred class on Saturday.

In order to compete for this Trophy, dogs must be entered in the CANADIAN BRED class. Judging of Best Canadian Bred in Show will follow Best in Show and Best Puppy in Show. The Trophy will be presented at the end of Show. A keeper trophy/prize will be donated each year.

The TOLSON/CASEY ‘WORKING GROUP’ TROPHY

To be awarded to the dog placing 1st in GROUP III in the all-breed show on Sat-urday.

This Trophy is awarded in honour of Mr. Shaun Tolson and Mrs. Marlene Casey of the Kars R.A for their tireless work and in assisting in the continuation of our shows. The Trophy will be awarded at the GROUP Level with a keeper trophy given to the Exhibitor.

GENERAL RULES

1. Only dogs that are already registered in the Canadian Kennel Club Stud Book, or are eligible for such registration can be entered.

2. To comply with instructions issued by the Canadian Kennel Club entries reaching the Show Secretary after the closing date as published in the Premium List cannot be accepted.

3. Entries cannot be accepted unless all particulars called for on the entry form are filled in. ie. DOB, sex, place of birth etc..

4. Only entries accompanied by the entry fee will be accepted.

5. No telephone entries are allowed.

6. Exhibitors must abide by errors made in entering their dog (s) regardless of how or by whom the entries were made. Change or cancellation of any entry after the closing day is prohibited.

7. The Kars Dog Club has the right to refuse any entry-subject to C.K.C. Dog Show Rules.

8. The SHOW SUPERINTENDENT will be in full charge of the show, which will be governed by C.K.C. Rules. The Show Superinten-dent’s authority extends over all the show grounds.

9. Identification cards and judging schedules will be mailed as soon as possible after the close of entries.

10. The person accompanying the dog must show the identification card before the dog is allowed in the show. Unless a dog is offi-cially entered, it will not be allowed on the show precincts.

11. Dogs need only arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled judging.

12. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to have the dog in the ring when the dog’s class is schedules for judging.

13. Severn Show Services and the Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of the dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of an accident, or other misfortune, to either dog, exhibitor or patron.

14. The show premises will open one hour before scheduled judging times.

15. If because of riot, civil disturbance or other acts beyond the con-trol of the management, it is impossible to open or to complete the show no refund of entry fees will be made.

16. To avoid noise and confusion , no individual dogs will be called to the ring by loud speaker. Delays waiting for dogs will not be pos-sible and handlers with several breeds must arrange for alternate handlers if judging times for their breeds conflict.
