KARTELL OUTDOOR COLLECTION AT THE GIANTS’ GARDENOn preview in the Triennale Gardens

The Kartell product range, adaptable for use in gardens, on terraces, around swimming pools and in outdoor areas of public premises and cafés, will be presented in the lush green Triennale Gardens in Milan, the ideal setting for a highly striking display destined to steal the limelight.

The stars of the magical gardens of the Triennale will be seven “totems”, gigantic topiary sculptures, up to four metres high, depicting a selection of the most emblematic “Kartell Outdoor” products. The collection will be arranged around these centrepieces, creating an evocative array of volumes, shapes and lights.

Multipurpose, eclectic, versatile, adaptable, hard-wearing: these are the principal features that make many Kartell products perfect for both indoor and outdoor use.

The uniqueness and high quality of the plastic materials from which Kartell products are manufactured ensure that they are able to withstand all kinds of weather and changes in temperature, thus allowing them to keep their good looks outdoors.


The seating ranges from Piero Lissoni’s new Pop sofa, now upholstered with a new waterproof cotton fabric and polyurethane-filled cushions, to Philippe Starck’s all-plastic Bubble Club sofa and armchair, presented in a new all-black version; and from Starck’s bestselling polycarbonate chairs (La Marie, Louis Ghost, Victoria Ghost) and Charles Ghost stools to his latest creations Mr. Impossible and Dr. Yes and the brand-new Hi Cut jewel-chair, which offers a wide choice of 18 different versions (3 seats – black, white and transparent – and 6 coloured “crystal-effect” tops).

The Kartell stand will also feature an array of new products presented for the first time at the Furniture Fair that will play with the concept of multipurpose versatility to become chameleonic icons for indoors and outdoors: the Ami Ami chair and square table by Tokujin Yoshioka, with a texture reminiscent of woven straw; the delicate Thalya chair by Patrick Jouin; the breezy Frilly chair by Patricia Urquiola, with a pleated surface like a woman’s dress; and the lightweight folding Honeycomb chair by Alberto Meda, which can be easily transferred from indoors to outdoors and vice versa.


The Kartell catalogue features a wide range of chairs and tables that are ideal for adding a splash of colour and design to bars and clubs, cafés and public areas.

The chairs are the perfect accompaniments to the Top Top tables, with melamine tops that make them particularly well suited for outdoor use, Dr. NA tables made from scratchproof painted SMC – presented with polypropylene Dr. NO chairs – and the new Dr. Sey table designed by Philippe Starck, the ideal companion to the Dr Yes chair.

There are also pieces with a more colourful, fun and original – but also precious – look, such as the transparent polycarbonate La Bohème stools by Philippe Starck and the Stone ones by Marcel Wanders; Patrick Jouin’s faceted PMMA Optic cubes; the “embroidered-effect” PMMA T-Table by Patricia Urquiola; Starck’s famous Gnomes and his new “giant-size” Misses Flower Power vases.

Kartell’s new versions of the POP sofa include an outdoor one, ideal for exteriors, with polyurethane filled cushions and waterproof technical fabric upholstery.

POP is a versatile and infinitely modular sofa that conveys the Kartell soul in its transparent plastic frame, visual lightness and eclectic nature, combined with a strong identity. Lissoni has played with the basic concepts of seating, teaming roomy cushions, whose appearance varies according to the different upholstery materials, with a polycarbonate frame available in two versions: transparent and the new glossy black.This sofa once again demonstrates Kartell’s ability to overcome prejudices concerning the inflexibility of plastic with its high-quality designs, proposing an array of comfortable, versatile and practical upholstered products.

MISSES FLOWER POWERDesign Philippe Starck with Eugeni Quitllet

An imposing piece, which redefines the surrounding space and enhances the time dedicated to floral décor. Misses Flower Power is a transparent polycarbonate vase with a “vintage effect” surface, which is decidedly outsized. The vase is manufactured by rotation moulding technology, applied for the first time to polycarbonate, resulting a single piece with an inner section that conveniently holds compost, water, plants or flowers. The base, manufactured in the same colour as the structure, ensures excellent stability.

The Bubble Club sofa is now available in an all-black version.Mass-coloured polyethylene Bubble Club is the pioneer of a new furniture concept: the all-plastic mass-produced sofa. Technology and research have allowed Kartell to be the first design company to mass-produce what has traditionally been handcrafted. Bubble Club’s exceptional weather resistance allows it to survive perfectly outside, making it ideal for furnishing and personalising gardens, terraces and pool areas with a touch of irony and design.

Bubble Club is a large two-seater sofa, characterised by the soft line of the armrests that contrasts with the more linear rational form of the backrest. Together with the armchair and small table, featuring the same finishes and colours, Bubble Club is now a complete family, offering a “mass-produced living room”.
