Summary of Professional Experience
Kathleen MacQueen is a Senior Scientist in Social and Behavioral Health Sciences at FHI 360. She
provides leadership in the development, implementation and management of research projects that integrate
qualitative and quantitative methodologies and conducts formative, participatory, and ethics-oriented research
related to clinical trials, with a focus on biomedical interventions to prevent HIV transmission. Prior to joining
FHI 360, Dr. MacQueen worked at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for ten years. For
her last two years at the CDC, Dr. MacQueen held the position of Deputy Associate Director for Science,
Office of the Director, National Center for HIV, STD, and TB Prevention. She received her Ph.D. in
Anthropology from Binghamton University and her M.P.H. from Emory University.
