Jon graduated from Johnston with a degree in Advancing Culture. During his four years, he took classes in creative writing, race and ethnic studies, literature, media studies, and sociology. He was a dedicated member of the Johnston Basketball team, served as the founding editor-in-chief of the Bulldog, founded the Race on Campus Conference, and was rarely seen without his

red backpack. Jon currently works as the Community Engagement Associate at the Kapor Center for Social Impact, a family of organizations that situates itself at “the intersection of

technology and racial and social justice.” He also is the Chief-of-Staff for the SOCIAL CLUB, a production group based in Santa Cruz that “aims to unite the local night-life community by

providing a space for folks to come together in the name of dance and self-expression - all while focusing on accessibility and being open.” Most recently Jon became a Founding Advisor for the Universities and Diversity + Inclusion for the Others Project, “the tech industry’s first real-time,

consolidated, and open source initiative exclusively dedicated to diversity + inclusion data.”
