KAYACOLLABORATIVE
LONG STORY SHORTKaya Collaborative
is transforming the Filipino diaspora into a support network for Philippine leadership and
innovation.
We launched in summer 2014 with our flagship fellowship program: an experience that connects young Filipino migrant leaders to opportunities for impact in the Philippines.
Since then, our vision, our momentum, and our people have grown - and we're looking for
young innovators in the Philippines to take our work to the next level.
We're looking for young entrepreneurs to spark, develop, and own this movement from the
Philippines: starting with Manila and eventually scaling to other regions. If you're looking
for an opportunity to lead at the frontiers of an entrepreneurial venture - and to play a
global role in accelerating local Filipino social movements - then apply now by emailing:
All positions are unpaid, but there is potential for pay in the future pending success with
fundraising.
KAYA KOMEANS ‘I CAN’
In the same spirit, Kaya Collaborative (or Kaya Co.) is building towards a global Filipino community that holds power in the collective.
Our mission: to inspire, educate, and mobilize the young Filipino diaspora as partners in long-term, locally led social change in the Philippines.
We envision a Philippines that is empowered, inclusive, resilient, and proud. A nation in which people can live - and live fully - without having to long so deeply for life elsewhere.

KAYA CO. FELLOWSHIP 2014
HOMELAND TEAM RESPONSIBILITIESWe are recruiting a Homeland team to act as Kaya Co's anchor to the local social sector. As we dive into our work of engaging the diaspora, the Homeland team will ensure that the global resources we mobilize are channeled into genuine impact in the Philippines.
- Expanding networks of social ventures in the Philippines and cultivating existing relationships with Kaya Co's partner organizations
- Telling the story of Philippines-based leaders to Kaya Co's global audience
- Conducting programs and facilitating more direct, on-the-ground partner-ships with current Kaya Collaborative partners
- Establishing opportunities for young Filipinos in the Philippines to play a role parallel to our existing Filipino American networks
Our organization operates around the principles of
human centered design;
what this means is that we don't want to
assume we know the answers until you,
our Homeland team, do some intensive listening
to locate the ripest issues and opportunities.
We fully expect our Homeland team to own the
direction of this organization and its programming.
But we do have ideas of what can be done. If any of the following projects sound appetizing, then you might be a fit for the role:
Scaling our fellowship program to new regions in the Philippines.
Assembling a solutions journalism collective in the Philippines and working with our diaspora team to bring stories of Filipino problem solvers to the global stage.
Designing an impact measurement system for Philippine ventures in order to showcase the most effective local solutions to the world at large.
Creating a new program for young people in the Philippines to create solutions to local problems, and funding this through diaspora giving.
Kickstarting a *reverse* balikbayan fellowship: bringing Filipino entrepreneurs to Fil-Am networks in order to build new initiatives that direct money and resources back to the Philippines.
BuildersDemonstrating a knack for making important ideas into reality. Designing products, programs and initiatives in ways that are rooted in insight and oriented towards impact.
MOBILIZERSGifted at inspiring individuals and directing people towards a vision and a cause.
