2) Heather Has Two MommiesAuthor = Leslea NewmanIllustrator = Diana SouzaISBN # = 1-55583-180-x

Description:One day Heather’s teacher reads a book about dads. Heather becomes very upset because she does not have a dad; Heather has two moms. After reading the story the teacher discusses different kinds of families and how it is alright to not have a dad because everyone has different families. That day in school all of the students draw a picture of their families. Heather brings hers home and shares it with her moms.

Recommendation: No, I would not recommend using this book in an early childhood classroom. The only reason I would not recommend using this book is because it discusses Artifi-cial Insemination in detail. Some of the words and the process itself may be too much for your students. The words may not make sense to the students so they may not pay attention to the book.
