Reminders
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
The last few weeks have flown by and the end of year has crept up on us. As we reflect on the 2018 school year, I wish to acknowledge and celebrate the many wonderful learning experiences and educational opportunities that have taken place for our students at KRPS, in numerous classrooms and in very creative and innovative ways. Together staff students and parents have planned diverse learning and extra-curricular opportunities, executed best teaching practices and held students to high standards and expectations. Kellyville Ridge’s unique character, excellence in learning and teaching, and the tremendous dedication and talent of our staff, students and parents continues to make it a wonderful and special learning environment for all of our students.
Twilight MarketsWhat a wonderful atmosphere of community spirit was displayed last Friday night at the Twilight Markets. Such and incredible event does not just happen. Thank you to the P&C team, led by Mrs Thrussell, and Mrs Gigliottiand to the staff team led by Mrs Smith, for the time and effort they have given to the year-long preparations, including but not limited to: sourcing sponsorship, publicising the event far and wide, coordinating store holders so there was something for everyone, organising stores themselves, co-ordinating working bees, ensuring the large cook up was enough to feed the famished, communicating endlessly with everyone, all aimed at ensuring the night was the best it could be. It is events such as this where our wider community family work in partnership that makes Kellyville Ridge PS really ‘The Place to Be’. Thank you to everyone who were part of the organising team, part of the night and to those who came to be part of and support our KRPS family.
Staff Development DaysThe last day for students this year will be Wednesday 19 December, 2018. Staff will be at school on Tuesday 29 January, 2019 completing mandatory training and planning for 2019. Year 1 – 6 return to school on Wednesday 30 January 2019

Kindergarten students will only come to school for their Best Start assessment between Wednesday 30 January and Friday 1 February and then return home. Kindergarten students will begin their staggered start times from Monday 4 February 2019.
Years 1-6 Students Return Wednesday 30 January 2019
All students should return to the 2018 lines for the start of 2019. Students will be with their 2018 class until we are able to ensure we are certain of our return numbers and 2019 classes can be formed. We anticipate that this will be able to occur during the first few days at school.
Thank you
Thank you to our teaching and specialist staff. You continue to demonstrate that you are among the very best. You serve a diverse student body and do so with excellence. Thank you so much to our administration staff for all the hard work and energy you put into your job, much of which is above and beyond. When visitors walk through our front doors they are greeted with your smiles and the warmth of the Kellyville Ridge family.
Thank you all for such a wonderful year and may the Christmas and New Year break allow you to rest and recharge and enjoy your family time with a little less routine.
Don’t forget every day to remind your children how special they are and how much you love them
Mrs.Gosman
FROM THE DEPUTIES
Class Decisions 2019As we start to look forward to 2019 at KRPS, we ask for our school community’s cooperation and trust in our professional judgement as we make decisions regarding class placements. Considerable thought about every student’s needs is taken into account whilst forming classes.
All teachers, executive staff and specialist teachers consult and communicate over a lengthy period to ensure every effort is made to achieve the best possible combination of teacher and learning cohorts.
In order to ensure equity for all members of our school community, we ask that you please refrain from contacting the school to request certain teachers or friendship groupings for your children unless there are extenuating circumstances, that we need to know about, in which case we are happy for you to contact us.
We appreciate the community’s ongoing support in allowing our dedicated and experienced teachers to use their educational expertise and professional knowledge to best place your children into class groupings.
Mrs.Maher and Mr.Hope

END OF YEAR CLASS PARTIES AND DISCO
Class parties for students K-6 will be held on Friday 14 December, the same day as our Christmas Disco.
Please send along a plate of food to share with their class. Please only send a small amount of food (enough for 12 serves or less). Examples would include cupcakes, biscuits, chips, fruit etc. (A disposable plate is a great idea)! If the food needs to stay cold, please send in with a cold pack (labelled with name), as unfortunately we don’t have access to fridges or freezers (Please do not send in food that needs heating or bottles of drink).
If your child suffers from food allergies, please discuss with them what they are able to eat or send in an individual plate for them. Students are able to wear mufti clothes/ Christmas clothes on this day.
Crazy HatsAt Kellyville Ridge, we traditionally support students who have reached an elite school sporting level. This assists them with transport, uniforms etc. As one of our students has recently reached this level, we are asking students to bring a Gold Coin donation and to wear a Crazy Hat on the same day as our parties and Disco (14th). This could be a Christmas hat, a tall hat etc. In fact any hat at all will be fine!!
We are all looking forward to a fabulous Party/ Disco/ Crazy Hat Day next Friday.
