Faculty Notes Kathy Adamle and her Dogs on Campus companion, Jake, participated in Kent campus publicity and activities for National Alcohol Screening Day, April 10, 2014. Mary K. Anthony has been appointed Co-Chair of the Grants Review Committee of the Midwest Nursing Research Society and has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Jennings Center for Older Adults in Garfield Heights, OH. Louann Bailey successfully defended her DNP in Leadership from Rush University in Chicago, IL. The topic was Heart Failure Care Model for the Older Adult. Her project showed a reduction in heart failure admissions and 30 day readmissions among older adults in long-term care. Pamela Rafferty-Semon received the Make a Commitment Award, presented at KSU’s Showcase of Excellence in Action – A Celebration of Engagement and Service on April 10, 2014, sponsored by the KSU Office of Experiential Education and Civic Engagement (OEECE). Pam, Jeremy Jarzembak and Jennifer Shanholtzer presented “Creating Partnerships in Preparing the Community for Disaster” at the same event. Carol Sedlak has been appointed to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ) Health Expert Panel of the American Academy of Nursing, and is exploring bone health in transgendered individuals. Diana Fleming, Jeremy Jarzembak, Mary Kutchin and Jen Shanholtzer, on invitation from Ursuline College, will be attending the Team STEPPS Master Training Course, May 19-20.
