THE MARKET GROWS BY 10% PER YEAR. 80% OF PRODUCTS IS MAINLY IMPORTED. The demand is driven by increased income and improvement of living standards. The ASEAN segment Healthcare Medical Device alone (not including home health services or other products) is expanding particularly rapidly and will reach $ 15 billion in 2017, up from $ 2 billion in 2012. The market for Medical Device ASEAN is under-exploited, and offers opportunities for foreign companies of devices able to effectively manage different cultures, languages, legal frameworks of ASEAN and compete with local competition.
