FROM THE

WELCOME

Good evening and welcome to Cromer Park, players and supporters from Blacktown

City FC.

In what promises to be an enticing clash on the Northern Beaches, both teams will be desperate to secure three points in this round 19 showdown.

Warren Grieve’s Manly United have clicked as a unit, winning their last four games after addressing a mid-season form slump.

Tonight is a massive test for the hosts, with the visitors, coached by Mark Crittenden, the competition yardstick.

Last start they were outstanding, thrashing

Sydney Olympic FC 4-0 on home soil thanks to a James Andrew hat-trick.

Sash Macura is United’s player to watch today.

The classy midfielder will be keen to perform against his old teammates, and has been a key figure in Manly’s recent revival.

Also look for Brendan Cholakian to have a big 90 minutes.

The attacking ace was on the score sheet last Sunday against Rockdale and tends to be a standout at Cromer Park when games are on the line.

See you at the game, with kick-off at 7pm.

Go you mighty Manly United FC!

Manly United will be out to end Blacktown City FC’s domination of the league when

they go head to head at Cromer Park on Saturday night.

Warren Grieve’s side has found form in recent weeks and have leapfrogged into fourth position on the ladder after looking like they would miss the playoffs earlier in the season.

Beating Blacktown is another challenge in itself and Manly will need to bring their best to top the league leaders.

Blacktown cruised to a 4-0 win against Sydney Olympic last round and could wrap up the premiership as soon as Round 20 if results go their way.

City coach Mark Crittenden will put the pressure on his players to not relax until the season is over which could mean plenty of goals on Saturday.

Rockdale City Suns 0 - Manly United FC 2 at Ilinden Sports Centre

Manly United has solidified their spot in the PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s top five with a 2-0 win against Rockdale City Suns at Ilinden Sports Centre on Sunday.

A goal to Brendan Cholakian in the first half and another to Nikola Taneski, against his old side, were enough for a 2-0 victory for Warren Grieves’s men.

For Rockdale the defeat has put a major dent in their premiership hopes while Manly climbs to fourth with four rounds remaining.

Blacktown City FC 4 - Sydney Olympic FC 0 at Lily’s Football Centre

A James Andrew hat trick and a dominant second half performance has helped PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s league leaders Blacktown City to a 4-0 victory over Sydney Olympic at Lily’s Football Centre on Sunday afternoon.

The former Sutherland attacker was brought on at half time in a double substitution and laid on the opening goal for Joey Gibbs before claiming a fifteen-minute treble to keep City six points ahead of second-placed APIA Leichhardt.

The result is Blacktown’s seventh league victory in a row and leaves the Seven Hills outfit in pole position to claim their ninth premiership with Mark Crittenden’s side likely to seal their first trophy of the season with a win over APIA Leichhardt when the two challengers meet in round 21.

WESTFIELD FFA CUP

Two enthralling Member Federation v Hyundai A-League club matchups, on back-to-back

nights, both of which will be broadcast LIVE on FOX SPORTS, headline the schedule for the 16 fixtures of this year’s Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32.

Victorian club Heidelberg United will welcome Perth Glory to Olympic Village on Tuesday 1 August before current PlayStation 4 NPL NSW league leaders Blacktown City host the Central Coast Mariners the following night at Lily’s Football Centre.

The last time a Westfield FFA Cup Final Round match was held at Olympic Village a crowd of 11,372 packed in to watch Heidelberg United, who had Greece international Kostas Katsouranis in their line-up, take on Melbourne City FC back in 2015.

The Central Coast Mariners will be looking to avoid a repeat of their shock Round of 32 loss to Green Gully last year, while for Blacktown City it is another opportunity to try and topple a Hyundai A-League opponent after coming up short against Sydney FC in last year’s Quarter Finals.

South Melbourne’s Cup tie against Northern NSW outfit Edgeworth Eagles at Lakeside Stadium will be the FOX SPORTS broadcast match on the traditional all-Member Federation opening night.

The other three matches scheduled to kick start the Round of 32 on Wednesday 26 July will see Round of 32 debutantes Hills United and Bankstown Berries host Hakoah Sydney City East

and South Australia’s MetroStars respectively, with last season’s semi finalists Canberra Olympic heading west to face the Jamie Harnwell coached Sorrento at Percy Doyle Reserve.

Night two features the David and Goliath contest between Brisbane Premier League side Peninsula Power and reigning Westfield FFA Cup winners Melbourne City FC at Dolphin Stadium, Tasmania’s entrant Olympia Warriors FC host APIA Leichhardt Tigers, while for the second year in a row Western Sydney Wanderers FC will meet Wellington Phoenix at Campbelltown Stadium.

Queensland’s Wolter Park and Mallawa Sporting Complex will both host matches on night three (2 August) as the home venues of Moreton Bay United and Gold Coast City, while Sydney FC will head to the Top End to face Northern Territory entrant Darwin Rovers FC at Darwin Football Stadium.

Rounding off the Round of 32 on Wednesday 9 August is an all-Victorian PS4 NPL blockbuster between former Westfield FFA Cup semi finalists Hume City and Bentleigh Greens at ABD Stadium, with Sydney United 58 FC and FNQ Heat to do battle in the Westfield FFA Cup Final Rounds for the second time at Sydney United Sports Centre.

The final two matches are all Hyundai A-League affairs as Brisbane Roar FC host 2015 Westfield FFA Cup winners Melbourne Victory in the boutique surroundings of Perry Park, and inaugural Cup holders Adelaide United take on the Newcastle Jets

at Marden Sports Complex.

As well as broadcasting one match LIVE and exclusive in full on each match night, FOX SPORTS will also LIVE stream and provide updates and crosses of all other matches. Broadcast and LIVE streaming details will be released closer to the opening match night.

Ticketing information for each of the Westfield FFA Cup 2017 Round of 32 matches will be released in due course by each home club. Please visit www.theffacup.com.au for further details and fixtures.

Blacktown City are searching for a win to keep in touch with leaders Sutherland

when John Carnevale’s side arrive at Cromer Park to battle Manly on Saturday afternoon.

City are two points behind the premiership frontrunners with four rounds remaining but are in the midst of a promising run of late season form having scored 14 goals and conceded one in their last four matches.

Blacktown skipper Mason Ireland has been at the forefront of the City cause this season with 12 goals, while Samuel Hamilton is also getting in on the action for Carnevale’s men with five in six since signing on from Sydney FC.

The fixture looks an ominous one for Manly who have struggled to back up their impressive premiership winning 2016 season and currently languish in 10th position. Only Bonnyrigg White Eagles (46 goals conceded)

and Parramatta (53) hold worse defensive records than the Cromer Park outfit (43) who have been unable to garner any momentum in their defence of last campaign’s title.

City will look to draw one final mark against the underachieving Manly side as they look to remain in the premiership hunt.
