September 22, 2016 Good afternoon! We had a week packed full of team days, sporting events, club meet- ings and parent/teacher conferences. A big thanks to the PTO and our parent volunteers for setting up an awesome dinner for our staff on conference night. Students are coming home today with their M.A.P. assessment scores for Reading and Math. This Measure of Academic Progress is the new district assessment that we are using to measure academic growth throughout the school year. We will use this screen- er three times throughout the year. You will see a letter explaining the meaning of the reports and what you should be seeing. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact Admin- istration or your student’s Guidance Counselor. If you have not done so already, please get your student’s emergency medical form turned into the office. Not only do we need these for field trip participation (which begins next week), but it is important to have updated medical information and contact information in the event of an emergency. Good afternoon!

We had a week packed full of team days, sporting events, club meet-ings and parent/teacher conferences. We will use this screen-er three times throughout the year. You will see a letter explaining the meaning of the reports and what you should be seeing. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact Admin-istration or your student’s Guidance Counselor.

If you have not done so already, please get your student’s emergency medical form turned into the office. Not only do we need these for field trip participation (which begins next week), but it is important to have updated medical information and contact information in the event of an emergency.

Have a great weekend!

Staff Spotlight—Ms. Boone

(Last Week)

What is your position and team? I'm currently in my sixth year as the 7-Blue Language

Arts teacher.

What is your favorite book and/or movie? My favorite movie will forever be Remember

the Titans. I'm currently reading Wild, a nonfiction book by Cheryl Strayed, and it's pretty

captivating so far.

What are your hobbies outside of the school day? My hobbies outside of school consist

mostly of hanging out with friends and family - specifically my adorable niece and nephew,

staying active, and attending local events such as concerts, baseball and football games.

What is your favorite quote? My favorite quote is by Eleanor Roosevelt: "No one can make

you feel inferior without your consent."

What does P.A.C.T. mean to you as a teacher? To me, P.A.C.T. is simply doing what's

right, even when others may not be watching. Additionally, to be the best versions of our-

selves, we must commit to showing pride in all that we do, while also approaching situa-

tions with the best attitudes that we can.

What does P.A.C.T. mean to you as a teacher? PACT allows us to put emphasis on the

ward.
