Kiwanis Club of Grand Junction

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

Kiwanis Grants In 2019 the Kiwanis Club of Grand junction awarded $39,915 in grants to organizations who support the kids of the Grand Valley.

Scholarship Programs In 2019 our foundation awarded $28,000 in scholar-ships to local students, mostly to Colorado Mesa Uni-versity. Some of the awards were made to students who participate in local Key Clubs and the CMU Circle K Club.

Alert Service Dogs Academy

Our Club invites selected families, with an afflicted child, to apply for enroll-

ment in our Academy where they receive a puppy at NO COST to the family.

Halle's Speech

“Sandi means the world to me. He is my little alerter that helps me realize that I’m low, my little guardian angel, my angel in disguise. He helps me with my diabetes and epilepsy, even farther on maybe with my sight. He even wakes us up in the middle of the night to tell us that I am high or low and grabs my tester off the counter. Sandi is my little angel. Thank you all for letting me have a chance to have him as my service dog.”

What we do? The Kiwanis Club of Grand Junction was established in 1937 and has been an active member of the com-munity ever since. Our goal is to improve the lives of children in the Grand Valley by supporting organi-zations that serve our children every day.

The Children’s Resources Directory

The Children’s Resources Directory has been published by use since 1991 as a service to the community. The directo-ries are free and are available at many locations, electroni-cally and in paper form. The directory is also published in Spanish. This resource is valued in the community that serves families and children.

Community Involvement

We do not just give money away, we also get

out into the community and help.

Kiwanis One Day

Each year Kiwanis around

the world get out and

make a difference in their

communities. In 2019 we helped out Habitat

for Humanity by getting out with some of our

Key Club and Circle K members to do some

clean up at their job site.

Bell Ringing

The annual Bell Ringing

for the Salvation Army

with the Downtown

Rotary Club is a one day

event which rings in nearly half of the dona-

tions generated by the Salvation Army of Grand

Junction during their Bell Ringing Season.

Kids Aid

Food Drive

Our food drive in 2019 for the local Kids Aid

backpack food program brought in over 15,000

food items and over $1,000 in cash donations.

Recognition Programs

Each year the Club recognizes individuals in our community that are

making a difference in the lives of children in the Valley.

2019 Citizen of the Year

Aaron Livingston

2019 Educator of the Year Amanda Talley

We also recognize outstanding students in our area high schools

each month during the academic year.

Students of the Month

How We Can Do It All?

With out community support we would not be able to do all that we do each

year. We have two fundraisers each year where we raise the funds we need

through sales and sponsorships.

Pancake Day & Fun Fest

(In June)

Kiwanis Golf Tournament

(In September)

Our monthly due of $30 covers all of our

administrative cost so that all revenues

from fundraising goes to the kids.

Are you interested in learning more about how YOU can make a

difference in your community and the lives of children? Join us for

lunch and learn more! We meet weekly each Thursday for lunch at

the Bookcliff Country Club, 2730 G Rd.

Santa Cause

Run

Each year the Club raises

funds by running with

Santa for a Cause. The

December 5k fun run

raises funds to build an

inclusive playground in Grand Junction.
