Brother Knights: As of this writing, our Good Lord has sparred Marco Island from the wrath of a hurricane or serious tropical storm this season. We continue to pray for moderate weather. This month we will begin our busy time which will include the Columbus Day Spaghetti Dinner on Tuesday October 11, Membership Drive on October 15 and 16,Bingo on Thursday Oct. 20 and 27, and 5th Sunday Rosary on Sunday October 30. Our Publicity Chairman SK Steve Layng has been spending a lot of time start-ing to advertise the Spaghetti Dinner with flyers for the bulletin, newspaper ads, and radio announcements. This is always a success and we expect a large crowd so please plan on helping. New this year is Bingo starting in October on Thursday the 20th and continu-ing for 5 weeks. We will be having new games so it will be more interesting. To the Team Captains, please start lining up your teams. Advertising for this is in the works also. SK Don La Pato, our membership drive chairman, is looking for Knights to be at the doors for all of the Masses. Please call him at 239-642-2236. The 5th Sunday Rosary program is a very important part of our council ful-filling some of the liturgical criteria for the Star Council Award. The Mass at which it will be said will be announced when it is determined. Please pray for the sick Knights and Columbiettes who all need our prayers. Dear Sister Columbiettes: Welcome back to all our sister Columbiettes who have been away this summer. Let us pray that this season will be as enjoyable and productive as the last. Our first meeting will be October 4, at 7:30pm in the Parish Center. Our first fund raising date is our Treasures in the Trunk Sale on November 12, from 8:00am until noon and the second Trunk Sale will be February 25, 2017. We are also planning for our Winter Wonderland Dance which will be on January 21, 2017. We will be helping the Knights with their first Spaghetti Dinner on October 11, 2016 at 4:30pm in the Parish Center. This year the Knights will start bingo October 20, and bingo will stop November 17 and begin again Janu-ary 5, 2017. This year we will have new games and again a Coach Bag will be one of their prizes. God bless all the Columbiettes, Knights, and their families with good health and a wonderful year ahead.
