The choice is yours! Each day that God gives us is definitely a gift, and we have every opportunity to value it. One of the ways to do that is to use each day purposefully, not wasting time or allowing ourselves to be manipulated by circumstances that we could control. Each day can count if we learn to live it “on purpose”, rather than passively drifting through the day, allowing the wind if circumstances and distractions to make our choices for us. The way to victory starts with making up your mind to do the right thing. Choose one thing that you’ve been putting off and do it today!Ask yourself, did I do the right thing today? Did I take the time to say a prayer?

Our Council has grown from humble beginnings. We have a duty to continue our legacy, and our growth is dependent on our actions to bring faith filled Catholic men into our Order. November 30, 2018 marks Council #4698’s 60th year!!!
How it began In 1958, Father T.D. O’Connell, Pastor of St. George Parish, called together a group of parishioners who were Knights of Columbus. Father O’Connell believed in the principles and objectives of the Knights and felt that a Knights of Columbus Council located in St. George’s Parish would benefit the Parish as well as the Knights. It was Father O’Connell’s perseverance and tenacity which led to the formation of this new Council. On November 30, 1958, a Charter was granted and 72 men were listed as Charter Members. John Logsdon was selected as the first Grand Knight of our new Council and Father O’Connell became the first Chaplain. He remained in that position until he retired in 1976.
Please take time to read the complete history on our website under “History” at www.Knights4698.org . I urge you to check out our Council’s web site, where you will find various items of information: prayer lists, officers, info and calendar.
We should always be ready to assist anyone with a new idea or better way to give service to others. As you’ve heard from many of our Brothers, our Council’s strength comes from each and every one of our efforts.
We will conduct our free turkey(s) raffle at the November 15th meeting, so mark your calendar and attend the meeting at 8:00 PM.
IF EVERY ONE DOES A LITTLE, NO ONE DOES IT ALL.

Chaplain’s Message Greetings from your Chaplain! Do you remember when you were inducted into the Knights of Columbus? You were given a rosary then, and usually in our prayers at our meetings, we pray “Our Lady of the Knights, pray for us”. Well may I ask, “When was the last time you prayed your rosary”? I know you and our Council do many good things, but our PRIMARY WORK is to become prayerful, dedicated Catholic men who support our parishes, our Church and our Catholic faith. To do that in this hectic world we MUST BE MEN OF PRAYER!!!
As Knights, we have committed ourselves to dedication to Mary and Her Rosary. It is the support you and I need to be and become all that God wants us to be!!! VIVAT JESUS
