Know Before You Go

A60 LTS Europe & South Africa Cruise

Please find below some essential information for the A60 LTS Cruise with Amway aboard the largest cruise-ship in the world, the “Symphony of the Seas” by RCCL:

CRUISE SHIP REGISTRATION - VERY IMPORTANT:

RCCL requires that all travelers register themselves directly on their cruise registration page. Without this registration, you will not be allowed to board.

This is an additional registration to the event registration provided by Amway. For each cabin, we will send your personal registration number and a link to the registration page by email that is connected to your cabin. You will then have one week to register on the RCCL Homepage. The registration page of RCCL is available in the languages English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese – if you need assistance with the registration process, please feel free to contact your Amway affiliate for support. At the end of the registration you will find your luggage tag for your cabin which you need to print out and attach to your luggage.

Your travel arrangements will be made for your assigned programme dates. It is mandatory that you board and depart from the ship on these assigned dates. In accordance with international maritime law and immigration procedures, boarding in other ports of call will not be permitted. FLIGHTS & AIRPORT TRANSFERS

During your pre-registration you will have chosen to either be a selfbooker or have your flights booked through Amway. If you are a selfbooker, you should have your flight booked through any travel agency of your choice, and the published reimbursement amounts will be credited to your accounts latest four weeks after the event. If you chose Amway to book your flights you will receive the flight information latest three weeks prior to the program via email.

Upon your arrival at Barcelona airport on the 23 October 2018, there will be regular bus shuttle transfers from 09:30 to 18:30 from the airport to the pier where the Symphony of the Seas will be docked. These bus shuttles are available for all , regardless of whether you are a selfbooker or if you are booked through Amway. Transportation by Amway is provided only on October 23rd from the airport of Barcelona to the pier and only on October 28th from the pier to the airport or alternatively from the pier to an Amway luggage storage space in the city of Barcelona and from there to the airport. BOARDING TAKE NOTE: EARLIEST BOARDING TIME IS 12:00 ON ARRIVAL DAY. In accordance with international maritime law and immigration procedures, boarding in other ports of call will not be permitted only in Barcelona.

All your travel documents, medications and other valuable items should always be in your hand luggage. It is highly recommended that you also pack a change of clothes in your hand carried luggage. If for any reason your luggage is delayed from your flight and is not able to be at the ship in time for sailing, it will take at least a few days before your luggage reaches you.

Upon check-in at the terminal you will need to agree to some health-related questions – a document with a translation of these is available at the RCCL Counter.

Shore Excursions – Shuttles Downtown

While registering for the cruise online in June you were able to choose one out of a variety of excursions. The excursion you have chosen is paid for by Amway and cannot be changed. Please make sure you arrive on time in the designated meeting point as the buses will not be able to wait and bring your ticket with you. Your tickets are in your Amway Welcome Booklet and you receive it on your arrival at the Amway Desk in the pier in Barcelona.

When you board the bus for your excursions in Italy you will receive a lunchbag that you can enjoy during your free time. The bag contains also a small bottle of water per person, please bring in addition your own bottle of water from the ship (any bar, free of charge) before you come to the meetingpoint for the excursion.

In addition, Amway will provide shuttles from the port to downtown Marseille, downtown Florence and downtown Rome free of charge for the participants who are not on excursion in these ports. Lunch is only included on the ship for ABOs using just the shuttles

PROGRAMME INCLUSIONS:

❑ Round trip airfare from your chosen airport to Barcelona airport for arrival and back on

trip dates (23.-28. October). Depending on your choice, flights are either booked through Amway or by yourself (selfbooking). Transfers as described above.

❑ Traveller insurance for all names as listed on this application form during the event dates.

❑ Transfer of all luggage including airport gratuities (excess or overweight luggage charges will be your responsibility).

❑ Ship’s gratuities

❑ Five nights’ accommodation on the “Symphony of the Seas” and meals according to the level of qualification, programme and event dates (no extras such as laundry, telephone, spa, minibar etc.). No lunch is provided on departure day.

❑ The daily itinerary offers several extra functions that are part of the ship’s normal offering. There is no admission fee to attend these events and activities.

❑ All on board entertainment is yours to enjoy at no charge.

❑ Upon registration we have asked you for your choice of excursion. While on board you cannot exchange the excursion unless you find somebody to swap with you. You will get the tickets for your excursion in your welcome pack upon arrival.

❑ On board, you will receive a backpack per ABOship as a gift in your cabin as well as a voucher for a cool XS branded hoodie-jacket per person which you will be able to pick up in your size on day 2 at “Studio B” on deck 4. RCCL will gift a tumbler per person which you can use to get your soft drinks from any bar or machine free of charge.

❑ Items purchased from the souvenir shop, the photo gallery, the Spa and other franchises are at your own expense. This also includes dining in the specialty restaurants, see notes on dining below. Please note that RCCL adds taxes and gratuities on all purchases.

For your convenience, Amway staff will be available to assist you at the Amway Hospitality Desks in the “Living Room” on Deck 15 Aft.

On and Off the Ship:

You will be asked to present your keycard upon disembarkation and re-embarkation of the “Symphony of the Seas”.

Individuals not reporting back in to the ship by the posted times will be left behind and will have to make their own arrangements. Your passport will be given to the Port Authority if you miss the ship. Please keep in mind that you need to be back on the ship at the announced on-board times.

Please make sure to carry sufficient cash or your credit card and a valid ID (recommended is to have a copy of your passport with you) just in case you are unable to make it back to the ship on time.

Dining:

All Inclusive information:

Unlike on previous cruises, there are no assigned eating times in the Main Dining Room. Whenever you wish to dine, just come together as a group to the Main Dining Room on Deck 4 and the restaurant crew will find a seating space for you. The Main Dining Room opens from 18:00 until 21:30 (entering the restaurant). The capacities in the restaurant are lower than the number of people on board, therefore we need your cooperation in keeping your dining time to no longer than two hours so other guests have a chance to get seated as well, at a later time. The buffet restaurant “Windjammer”, the restaurant “Solarium” and some other venues are available for dining also – choose your preferred eating time at no cost.

Specialty restaurants (not included by Amway):

There are many additional specialty restaurants for your dining pleasure:

Steak restaurant “Chops” is open daily for dinner (18:00 - 21:30). If you choose to eat here, you will be charged USD 49.00 plus tax for dinner per person. “Jamie’s Italian” by Jamie Oliver (18:00 - 21:30) offers fresh Italian food, costs for this restaurant USD 35.00 plus tax for dinner per person. “Hooked” seafood restaurant for USD 39.00 plus tax per person, “150 Central Park” for a proper gourmet experience at USD 45.00 plus tax per person Last but not least “Wonderland”, a very unique dining experience with food being served in a way you have not seen before by waiters you have not experienced before… at USD 49.00 plus tax per person If you are interested in visiting the specialty restaurants more frequently, RCCL offers discount packages for Amway guests

Drinks package:

Amway provides you with a drinks package which includes all drinks which cost up to USD 13.00 per glass. This includes soft drinks, juices, smoothies, beer, most wines as well as all cocktails up to USD 13.00 and is valid in ALL restaurants, bars and venues, with the exception of the Starbucks Café. When ordering a beverage, you will be asked for your stateroom key as a guarantee of your age. The waiters will advise you if you exceed the drinks package fee of USD 13.00 per glass. In this case, you will have to pay the $$ difference. Upon your arrival, the Symphony of the Seas will provide a tumbler per person on your cabin. This is to be used as the glass to fill in your soft drinks from the tabs available in the restaurants and cafes aboard.

Amway Events Europe App

As for all the other LTS this year, the A60 LTS cruise will be supported by a guide in our new Amway Events Europe app. All you need to know about this event in the palm of your hand: a detailed agenda, pictures, videos, latest news and a lot of additional information about the ship and the activities on board! Always available, always up to date! More information about how to download the app and the event guide will follow shortly in a separate email.

Tipping:

While it is standard to tip the employees on board of a cruise ship at the end of a journey, Amway is covering for all the tips. Should you still feel like giving an additional tip to your cabin steward for outstanding service, please feel free to do so.

Dress code:

Casual on all days with the exception of the Regional Specific Business Meetings (business casual) and the Emerald Cocktail (on invitation, elegant). Please refrain from wearing swimwear in the inside restaurants.

Health & Safety

Translated cabin safety instructions can be found in your cabin and the safety video is shown on TV in your cabin.

This sheet informs you of all necessary action to take in case of an emergency, including the ship’s emergency alerts, such as the alarm sounds and where to assemble in case of an emergency. Safety vests are provided in case of an emergency at your muster station.

SAFETY DRILL

By law, everyone is required to participate in the safety drill

On the evening of day 1 at 17:00, there will be a mandatory safety drill. Proceed to your muster station indicated on your sea pass card. No life jackets are involved in the safety drill. . Should you not have participated, there will be another drill later that night. If you have any questions about the above information or your safety instruction sheet, please contact the Amway Hospitality Desk immediately.

Medical facilities

The Symphony of the Seas has an onboard Medical Center staffed by licensed physicians and critical care nurses. While not a full-service hospital, the Medical Center is well equipped to handle most emergencies and routine medical procedures. The medical facility is located on Deck 2. The opening hours are published in the daily program inside your cabin. In an emergency you can dial 90 from any ship phone. Patients at risk will be taken off the ship in the next port of call. If you need special medication, you need to bring these in sufficient quantities for your entire cruise and bring them in your hand baggage.

If you know you experience motion sickness, it is recommended that you bring your own medication. The Medical Center is able to support in case of need.

Internet and roaming

The internet of the ship works at all times. When not in port, we strongly advise you to turn off the roaming function of your mobile devices. Otherwise they will be connected to satellite and you might end up with enormous costs.

Access to the internet:

❑ Connect to “royal wi-fi” on your own device to get started.

❑ Open your Internet browser and register for the package of your choice (0$ package)

❑ Enjoy VOOM, the fastest internet at sea ❑ Logoff one device to use another by typing logoff.com into your browser

Amway will cover the internet fees for all attendees. RCCL claims to have the fastest internet at Sea, so we expect reasonably good internet coverage for all participants. However, Skyping and FaceTime Live are not recommended due to potential bandwidth issues

Payment on board

The currency on board is US Dollars. As you enter your cabin, your keycard can be found in the holder by your cabin door. This key card serves as your cabin key and ship ID for leaving and returning to the ship as well as your form of payment onboard (cash of any kind is not required). You will be asked to present a credit card upon check in unless you already pre-registered your credit card during the RCCL online registration. The following cards are accepted onboard: American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club.

An invoice will be delivered to your room the night before departure if you had costs, please go to the front desk that evening to clear your bill. If RCCL has your credit card details, your room incidentals will automatically be charged and you do not need to check out at the front desk of the ship.

You can pay in your home currency; all major currencies are accepted. As noted above, please note that RCCL adds taxes and gratuities on all purchases.

Payment on land

We will visit France and Italy where the currency is EUR. Credit cards are widely accepted in all visited countries.

Travel documents

If you do not have proper documentation upon arrival in Barcelona (visa if necessary, RCCL documents), you will not be admitted onboard of the Symphony of the Seas. Each traveller needs the approval to enter Spain, France and Italy and needs to hold a valid passport or EU ID. If you need any help with the visa requirements, please contact your affiliate office.

Babies and pregnant women

Please note that the same travel documentation is required for babies and children. Please notify your affiliate Special Events office if you are bringing a baby. Babies younger than 6 months will not be permitted on this voyage. In addition, RCCL (Royal Caribbean International) cannot accept guests who will have entered their 24th week of pregnancy by the beginning of, or at any time during the cruise.

Storing your valuables

All cabins are equipped with an electronic safe. There is no charge for using this safe and it is recommended that you place all items of significant value and any cash in them.

Postcards and stamps

Postcards are provided at the Amway Hospitality Desk on Deck 15. Please visit us to pick up your postcards. Stamps can be purchased also at the Hospitality Desk. The postcards will be posted when we are back in Barcelona.

Pool towels

Towels are given out by the pools on Deck 15 with your stateroom key. Please return these towels after usage. A charge of USD 20.00 for each missing towel/bathrobe will be added to your cabin account.

Photo service and Filming

Our Amway photographers and videographers (wearing Amway name badges) will take pictures and videos onboard and on the excursions. These photos will be provided to you on our Amway Events Europe Facebook page.

In addition, the RCCL photographers will take pictures of you. If you wish to purchase these pictures, please go and visit RCCL at the “Picture This” Area on Deck 6.

We respectfully ask that you abide by the ship’s regulations on the filming of Shows, Performances and their staff.

Smoking policy

Smoking is strictly forbidden inside the cabins and on the balcony of the cabins. There are two areas on the ship where smoking is admitted: a designated area in the Casino and at the Smoking Area on the pool deck 15 near the Whirlpool Bar. RCCL charges a fee of 250 USD should you have smoked in your cabin.

Weather:

The weather in the Mediterranean end of October can be various – from 20 degrees Celsius with sunshine to 10 degrees Celsius with wind and rain. Please pack accordingly, including a warm rain jacket, possibly a pocket umbrella for going on land.

New Platinum Seminars (Excludes Amway Southern Africa) and other Meetings By Invitation Only:

New Platinums (Excludes Amway Southern Africa) have been permitted to join this cruise as a special A60 anniversary reward. In addition to the new Platinum Seminar on board, there will be other ‘By Invitation Only’ separate meetings and functions scheduled for different criteria of groups. Please check in your welcome pack for relevant invitations and for the exact timings and locations in your app.

Cruise Compass

You will find all detailed, minute by minute programme information in the Cruise Compass delivered daily to your cabin. Below is an outline of that detailed information, and is subject to change.

Various amazing entertainment and shows will be offered each day. Please check on your Amway event app or in the daily programme for the times and locations of these events.

Day 1 – 23. October – Arrival Day

Barcelona, Spain

The city of Barcelona with its 1.6 Million citizens, capital of Catalunya, is a buzzing

place for people of all ages, especially loved by the young generation. Its touristic highlights include the famous “Sagrada Familia”, a church designed by Antoni Gaudi as well as several other Gaudi designed houses, parks and statues. “La Rambla” downtown Barcelona invites to a stroll along shops, restaurants and artists. Numerous other sights attract more than eight million tourists per year.

Upon arrival at Barcelona airport, you will be greeted and guided to our bus transfer area by Amway staff. Transfers are provided for all travelers from the airport to the port between 9:30 and 18:30, no matter if you booked the airline tickets on own or through Amway. Should you arrive by car, parking is available at various locations in the city, NOT right by the pier though. You will have to make your own way to the pier terminal where the Symphony of the Seas will be docked.

At the ship check-in you will be required to show your registration documents (you are

required to register directly on the RCCL site and print your confirmation as well as your luggage tag with the cabin number), your passport (or European ID) and a credit card. Once you are checked in please stop by the Amway Desk for your personal Amway documents. You will receive your stateroom keycard in the holder next to your stateroom door. Please make sure you do not lose this card.

After locating your cabin, take some time to get acquainted with the ship. The schedule for this week’s cruise provides business as well as entertainment.

La Spezia itself is a charming little town in walking distance of the ship. This port is mainly known as the ideal starting point from the Sea to the famous city of Florence with all its amazing architecture, art and culture. Many people have signed up for an excursion to dive into the beauty of the landscapes of the famous Tuscany or Florence itself. Highlights include the Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi Galleries & Palace as well as the Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore with the Cupola of Brunelleschi. If you have not signed up for an excursion from La Spezia, we highly recommend you to either enjoy the town of La Spezia or to take advantage of the offered Amway shuttle buses to Florence (driving time approximately two hours, depending on traffic).

Whilst Civitavecchia itself is not the most prestigious place to be, it convinces through its most convenient access from the Sea to the beautiful city of Rome. Summarizing the highlights of this extra-ordinary city in just a few lines is an impossible thing to do – here a random shortlist: The Vatican with the Sistine Chapel and the St. Peter Church, the incredible Forum Romanum, the gorgeous Spanish Stairs, the famous Trevi Fountain, or the amazing Colosseum...you name it! Rome is the “Eternal City” and one of the most amazing places in the world, combining history with today’s life. Alternatively, you can either stay on board and enjoy the facilities of the ship or you take advantage of the offered Amway shuttles to Rome (driving time: approximately 75 minutes).

shuttles to the airport. We recommend you to use

these shuttles if your flight is between 9:30 and

12:30.

For all later flights, Amway has booked a storage

space downtown Barcelona (Italian Pavilion).

Shuttles from the pier to this location between

7:30 and 9:30. The storage space is open from

8:00 until 18:00. Shuttles from the Italian

Pavilion to the airport between 11:00 and 18:00. Buses will leave as soon as they are full.

With the arrival of the Symphony of the Seas to Barcelona, it is time to return to our homes and enjoy our happy memories of the A60 LTS Cruise 2018.

Please follow the instructions on your departure notice regarding claiming your luggage and your transfer back to the airport or to the Amway luggage storage area downtown Barcelona.

Please make sure you to clear your cabin account.
